No problem. Maybe don't keep asking a question that he has already said he will let everyone know when they are ready.

He hasn't answered our question, that's why each of us have chimed in maybe once a month for an answer. Every time we do we get browbeat by some dimwit who knows nothing about the 18+ handheld situation. This is about 18+ handhelds which you have nothing to do with, or I would've asked you and not Mat.

Oh and I'd say there are hundreds of us waiting quietly for months with a piece of plastic and out 700 bucks, and told to stop complaining and wait indefinitely. You'd be pretty irate too.

Don’t expect an email announcing the update. Unfortunately, OVT has never made it a priority to update registered users using traditional communication methods. The update will likely come via this thread or their blog. Setting up an alert to notify you of a change to the handheld blog page using one of the many google add-ons is an option you may want to investigate.

I appreciate that kind of response. I'm subbed to the related threads, which means I have to look at them and comb through for information. I think the handheld situation warrants a little more service from Mat, considering what we are being asked to put up with.

I usually just go to page 1 and use the small gray < at the bottom right to scroll backward. It’s not ideal, but at least it only cycles through OVT posts.

I think you need to consider the fact that we are all part of a test group. OVT could have very easily waited until everything was 100% before coming to market, but they allowed us to be part of the process. It can be frustrating at times, but it really is a privilege to be participating. Just be patient - it’s always worth the wait.

I agree this party is a work in progress, but being sold something that is indefinitely nonfunctional is not acceptable, at least the flash and dongle customers have beta files, while we are offered no refund, trade, nothing but wait and shut up. I am a previous customer with a 2nd gen handheld, and I am a fan of the improvements his tunes make.

I don’t believe this to be true. I’ve followed this thread now for quite some time and have seen the owner offer a refund for the handhelds for those who don’t want to wait on a secondary company to finish up their product on the software side. Reach out to OVTune and ask for refund or a swap to the flash kit. I can imagine he’d be willing to help out.

Definitely not hundreds. More like 15. We can exchange it, refund it, etc. We were just as disappointed when alientech said they were good, ready to go, works, no problem.
    Only to not work.

We will let everyone know as soon as we know. It's been a "any day now" for the last 2 weeks.

I never told anyone "stop complaining and wait indefinitely"

You didn't say that, not to misquote. Anthony at Opentablet did. But mainly other posters which do not have the same issue.

Newb question, why do a lot of you prefer 04B04? And how do I update my eco to 04B04 if I don’t have that version? With the OV tune?

Also, website says windows xp not supported. Is every thing else ok?

Got it in the mail yesterday and was able to flash the 2.0 beta 87 base. Drives like it should now. throttle response is good the trans shifting is most noticeable and holding gear even when im not being aggressive. I havent gone on the interstate yet but around town very happy with the result

If you are an AT you need to update from 04A60 to 04A61 if you haven’t already. I’m sure someone here can send you the link to that tsb. It will make it much easier for you to get the latest updates.

Your in Colorado. The 87 tune is fine since you are at elevation.

I feel for ya man, I can relate to being in a similar situation before. But 2 things. First, I'm sure Matt's busting his tail to get a solution as this may come as a surprise but your not his only customer with the only catagory of problems. And second, one thing I've learned is dont piss off the only person that CAN resolve your issue as well as anyone else who may be ignorant on the subject but are trying to make what they think is a helpful passing comment. Mate, you have a brand new truck, 700 bucks isnt going to make or break, it will INEVITABLY be resolved, it just takes time. This may come across bad and make you mad, but I'm just saying calm down and it will work itself out. Nothing pisses people off more than someone blasting them on a public forum. If you absolutely positively cannot wait then maybe get your money refunded and find what would satisfy your needs elsewhere.
