    I guess I'll go with what's behind door number 2 and/or 3...

Whatever it is, piss poor execution by Toyota IMO.

Currently running the 91 octane 2.0 beta. Feels more refined than 1.05 but it also feels down on power compared to 1.05 91 performance tune. Really notice it out on the freeway. When looking for small increments in speed to get around someone in the passing lane it works hard to do that, almost like stock. In town driving I don't have any complaints. Does anybody else feel this way?

I'm lifted with steel skids, sliders, and 33s, with 35s a possibility in the future. I don't do a lot of highway miles, unless it's to more remote parts of the state to go wheeling and camping. Reading through the 5.29 megathread, I'm really thinking that's what's going to be next. Less expensive than a supercharger, and less complicated than the twin turbo kit. Gears seem to be what would fix my last concerns with the shifting. Short of replacing the trans I don't see a fix for the 3/4 shift thing, the gap in gear ratios there is just wrong.

FI of some sort sounds fun, but it's starting to look like something I want more than I need.

Didn't mean paddles ON my taco. Just meant, if in gear lock, it shifted the same way my programmed NAG1 does, I'd be all over it.
    Instant, crisp/firm. Like it SHOULD.

I could be wrong, but, I'd imagine it shifts the same lazy way it does now, just stays in selected gear.
    I might try it, but...

It did it on factory tune and all other tunes. It did it before the lift. Its tapered blocks in the rear. Pinion angle is perfect. No drive shaft vibration. It's not coming from the front. I'm not an idiot. I've been working on vehicles since 1992. Rechecked balance on all 4 tires. They cant get anymore perfect. Checked all u joints and regreased them. Dealer says some trucks just have a shudder on the highway.

have you tried the ecgs front driver side cv shaft bushing fix? It’s a common vibration that arises after slightly lifting these vehicles.

That's not it.. this feels like your riding on a bumpy road.. that bushing will normally growl.

The firm shifts were my major complaint on my Dodge, 25yrs ago, since it was the way that I drove it 95% of the time. I did like that it downshifted right near redline, which was something that most of the others didn't do at the time. If it had the same shift feel in D as manual mode, I would have been a lot happier.

Wow! Gas is 2.39 at the closest shell station for 87 and over $3 for 93.

running 91 performance beta. 5.29 n 35s. City driving is perfect but highway I have the same issues you mentioned. Hoping the 2.0 final has the 5.29 setup.

The gas price variation is interesting to me. Yesterday, it was $2.90 for 87 and $3.20 for 92 at Costco. For most of the time that I have lived here and what I can remember from PA, the difference in grades was usually $0.10. Lately, it has varied a bit, but a lot of folks say that they see bigger differences like you are.

Up here we are $0.70-1.00 more per gallon for 91!

It is amazing how much different it is up there. Euro prices with US MPGs and a lot more distances to drive.
