2 weeks ago we were told 2.0 was put on hold indefinitely only, to get a “well I suppose I could release a partial to all but ‘19’s” to only releasing a test tune to 19’s

Simple answer....if some one is confused and has a question, submit a zenhub and await an answer. Again, why is it so difficult to follow the process Matt has asked?

Thank you. That’s exactly how I read it too. I was also not being a smart ass.

The new version available on 19s were to specifically fix some problems on the previous public version that some trucks were having.

The only current versions available, to any truck, any year, is 1.05, 1.05.1, or 2.0 betas (2019, 2020), or older 2.0 betas (16-18).
A release for 2.0 full, on any version, year, etc has not happened. I recall saying that a new version of 2.0 beta for 2019s would be posted because of some specific problems on the last one.

Read it in context to what I was replying to.

Mat has also stated many times that sending emails to ZenDesk slows down his productivity on 2.0 final. I thought this was the place to submit random questions

I agree with you but, it’s been a wild ride the past few weeks. I understand why some people may be confused. That’s all. True, the same questions get asked over and over again and people do come up with ridiculous assumptions. But it all has been somewhat hard to follow.

Yes I have, when it comes to tickets like "how do I download 2.0" "is it released yet" "Can I turn my seat belt chime off."

I still have to sort every single one of those damn tickets. and I get a LOT of them.

I understand it can be a bit confusing right now.
This is the 7th line down on the first page :

First question everyone is going to ask. "does this affect 2.0 release? will we still get it?" No it does not, yes you will still get it.

I think it's better if I just stop commenting here. Seems to add more confusion than clear up anything. Additional information will be on our website when it is ready. (regarding anything. 2.0, vF, etc).

We've all been through a lot in our lives, but nothing like this pandemic. Home schooling kids, working at home, working your job because what you do is vital for others, caring for parents, the unknown... Losing your cool is gonna happen and is natural. Take a deep breath, think of everything you are thankful for and settle down, please.

Coming from a guy who usually comes out swinging! Tons of amazing folks on this forum, some are not completely amazing yet! Bottom line, a Band of Brothers!

Tomorrow is another day boys. Enjoy the evening!

Mat.... YOU don't even listen to what you post. It would probably be best for all concerned if the mods would BAN you for about two weeks. Then you would have time to finish up 2.0 FINAL. Then you could come back here and release it and talk about it for a week or two. Then, and ONLY after that is done, begin to talk about vFTune again. In a new thread. Unfortunately I think you've kind of brought this current mess upon yourself by opening up about your future plan before the old plan is complete. You're going on three years in this forum.. you should know by now how many here are going to react.

This thread is getting crazy. I’m gonna get out of here for a while too.

Mat, like I’ve said several times in the past few weeks; please take your time on 2.0 Final. Ultimately nobody wants a rushed job on the last full custom tune.
We appreciate you and your hard work.

Without getting too far into the weeds, here is how I understand the current status (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong):
    • 2.0 is near ready for 2016 to 2018 with multiple versions for each year (Gears, tires, etc),
    • 2.0 for 2019, and subsequently 2020, are in beta testing phase to clear up issues that 10% of the 2019's had (2020's, because they share the same files),
    • All OVTune Flash Kit customers (2016 to 2020) will receive the latest 2.0 tune, but this tune has not been released yet,
    • OVTune business strategy is phasing out Flash Kit, and replacing it with a different tuner all together, VF Tuner,
    • VF Tuner will be the new tuning software moving forward, but only minor details have been leaked/released regarding licensing, example maps, shared maps, additional ECUs, etc.
    • Official Details for VF Tuner will be released when the product is released, and, like any software that's in "dynamic development phase" (including the current Flash Kit), updates and adjustments will happen as necessary (we shouldn't expect a "turn-key" product - this isn't Amazon),
    • Existing Flash Kit customers can upgrade their license to use the VF Tuner (or not), but new customers will no longer be able to purchase Flash Kits (only VF Tune moving forward),
    • O.G. USB dongle owners are encouraged to trade in their dongle for regular Flash Kits because "time-consuming duplicate files" need to be made up for a small amount of dongle owners,
    • While it was a good idea, Handhelds ran into a roadblock because of manufacturing and software companies outside OVTune's control, and customers are encouraged to trade their handhelds for regular Flash Kit licenses,
    • COVID19 has majorly impacted Licensing, Handheld Development, and Sales. Releasing final 2.0 and transitioning into VF Tune is the business decision that OVTune made considering all the circumstances.

Meh. I don't think it matters what you do. There will always be idiots who cannot read and correlate information, who have no reading comprehension skills whatsoever, and those that just spread whatever rumors they want just to get attention or to get a rise out of you.

I wouldn't say that you just stopping your commenting here would solve anything. You've taken that approach before and all it got you was endless complaints by people who couldn't grasp the concept of emailing you via zendesk and the necessity for patience while you got to their emails and concerns, and so they filled this thread with posts about how your customer service is trash and you don't care for the community and never keep customers updated.

There's no right answer and unfortunately I think all you can do is continue to shoulder the burden and push forward. It's a rough road but just know that it's appreciated Mat.

    Sincerely and with love,
    Your MT non-problem children

probably the best decision you could make. I will check back in a few months, or this fall. 0944 is 99% perfection and the other 1% is not that big of a deal.
