It is being worked on, but there is no ETA yet.

It is not a pipe dream. Ignore the naysayers. We will take as much time as needed to make sure everything is working perfectly right on release.

 

I wish I would’ve gotten the chance to experience the performance tune but I now have to move to the 87 octane tune because of gas prices and long drives (over 100 miles a day) for work

 

it's easy to just post memes.

But behind the scenes we have to make sure that everything works, without bugs, is functional for all ECUs, ensures proper compliance with laws and regulations, etc.

the iterative testing cycle is crucial for quality. Fast, cheap, and dipped in ugly sauce is a quick fix for many demands, but your values for the right way will benefit the product for much longer.

Hoping someone can answer. So i bought ovtune in 2018. As i understand, its registered to my laptop. The time has come to get a new laptop or format the old one. How do i go about getting my ovtune apps and files back? Is it safe to reset my laptop?

 

Things are different now. If you upgrade to vF, there is no more REG file. You just need to have your Master Key (like an MS Activation Key), username, and password. You get three installations of vF on different machines. $79 for dongleless / $0 for dongle. Message @OVTune on Zendesk to do either of these.

If you want to stick with something like Flash Manager and never edit tunes, a new and similar program will be released. It is not out yet.

 

When will the flash tool be available for us non-vftuner users? I'm really wanting to try some tunes that are releasing on here, but I have no clue how to flash them.

 

No schedule has been given. Just gotta hang tight.

 

The tune I want to run isn't available for my ecu yet regardless. Thanks for your help!

I dont think i know enough to edit my tunes so i would probably stick with flash manager. So if i reset my laptop i will lose my tuning ability until the apps is released? Will the program still be tied to my laptop if i format the hard drive or do i have to fo theu the process allover?

 

Yes. You'll be down until the new program is out.

I do not think you will have to worry about a REG with the new program. I'm not 100% sure there.

 

Im guessing its not as simple as copying the folder to a usb stick and putting ut back on my hard drive after i format it. In that case may have to wait for new program

 

The reg key is tied to your system ID. Which is somehow tied to that windows installation. So you’ll lose the ability to use the flash tool and would have to wait for the new one or update to the current vF that doesn’t require a reg key

What parameters would I adjust in VF tuner to increase the throttle response? I already have the 4.88 premium THX tune and would like to have more throttle response. I was attempting to get up a Sandhill a few days ago and had really no room to back up and get a running start. The delay on throttle response was enough to make it really difficult to get up.
