Upcoming work, bug fixes, issue fixes:

    GEAR LOCK:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrBPywFF0YE&t=2s

1.05 - Feedback Updates > **to be continued**

    idle Stability - Completely resolved.
    - Idle targets have been modified from toyotas stock targets to more correct, real world RPM values, this will fix any trucks with idle issues or trucks that shake at idle (un-tuned trucks that have the idle shaking issue, the tune resolves it).

misfire or pinging issues - investigating further

Off the Line response (issue on heavier trucks) - Fixed

off the line response for some trucks, and mid range response (lack of pedal response) in RPM range 2500 to 4500 RPM has been fixed.
    - recalibration of certain torque and throttle tables.

Stuck in 4th, 3rd Gear after hard acceleration (uncommon issue) - Fixed

3- 5 > 5 - 3 Shift - Investigating shift routines to see how to solve this without detrimental impact to highway 5/6th

    Fueling :
    - Clean up fueling on high Octane 91/93 tunes >
Power demand, better AFR. Fuel Tables have been modified for high octane tunes to run closer to peak torque under high load / acceleration :
    AFR image 1.jpg

Shift Locking Control (trucks with lack of low rpm acceleration, heavy weight) >
Modification made to Torque Lock in 4th, 5th, 6th, so that under low throttle scenario the TQ will lock, and when the accelerator is quickly pressed the TQ will unlock, without gear change up to 2000 RPM. (blue accelerator change, red lock, green unlock). Allows for change in acceleration without shift
    Load Reduction.jpg

    Patch notes -
Patched Throttle Control Code and tune
Throttle control has been modified to eliminate and reduce any stock throttle angle limits.
Log snip below shows no throttle limit in any gear while using GEAR LOCKING.
Throttle testing conducted in 1rst through 5th gear with 5th gear as low as 2000 RPM
    FULL THROTTLE LIMIT REMOVED
5th and 6th gear FULL LOCK Full throttle patch-

    Engine Load Patch -
Engine load control has been modified to allow for reduced peak engine load

Engine Power AFR - 13s - high 12.7 (high RPM)

With our new flash Manager release comes two new tunes for the AT.
    1. Revised Base (mpg)
    2. Performance ( 87, 91, 93)

The revisions to our base mpg file (which is the file that has been released) changes: idle target speed, ignition timing, valve timing slightly, and a few other controls to mitigate issues on some trucks that have mis-fires during cold start. Along with fixing unstable idle on some ECUs.

    Regarding performance version:
There will be 3 versions (based on octane).
87 Octane Performance version does not add power except for higher RPM.

Changes made to the performance version:
    - Revised Shift scheduling and Revised downshift controls for D mode.
    - 6800 RPM rev / Shift limiter in 1rst and 2nd gear. - Datalog below shows that 2nd gear @ 6800 RPM = 70mph.
    - Ignition timing curve has been completely recalibrated for performance, and as a result from 5000 to 6800 rpm is much more responsive. Wheel spin is a concern above 5500 RPM.

    Data-Log test results
Cold engine misfire count (taken with techstream)
A maximum of 4 misfires counted during a 12 minute drive from cold engine (35* outside)
(Gap in log is where truck was shut off, restarted and drove aggressively)

Knock Control on Performance version (93 octane test)
A maximum of 1.2* of knock retard recorded (Before KCS learning curve applied) with KCS @ 30+
Ignition curve is smooth and increasing with RPM as seen. This 1* of knock will be trimmed out with later driving.

    Ignition Curve -
Our Performance oriented Ignition curves targets a maximum of 31* peak advance at WOT. Producing as much power as possible with pump gas.

    Performance Testing - Highway Speed:
As you can see here you can reach 70MPH in 2nd gear with our new performance map at 6800 rpm.
1rst gear is very aggressive up top, so we caution you to take some time to get used to it.
3rd gear and above are limited to stock shift limit @ 5800

At operating temperature with aggressive and highway driving zero misfires were counted.

Knock control working properly adding and reducing based on immediate feedback. Other than some tip-in low RPM knock which is extremely common on high compression engines these days, knock is almost non existent or within an acceptable 1* reduction range.

Fuel Pressure stays above 2500 PSI during long, high load pulls. (2nd gear - highway - 68000 RPM)

    Camshaft timing -
Camshaft timing has been modified slightly for better knock control.
One thing that has been noticed on my test truck is that the exhaust cams (bank 1) does not always respond as quickly as Bank 2 in acquiring the target VVT angle.
Not really an issue and very unlikely to be a hardware problem. Just an observance.
This is NOT a cause for concern or for people to get all worked up over. < bold, italic, underlined in red because I know how some people react >

    Overall

Performance version is very likely the tune that people are wanting when it comes to more response, with a minimal decrease in mpg.
Performance version of the tune does drive exceptionally on the highway, however due to the changes to the tune, you may not see as much MPG (especially city driving) as the base - MPG oriented version of the tune.

    KNOWN ISSUES AT/MT:

    PINGING:

    - Check if your truck requires recall for Crank Shaft Sensor
    - Try Alternative brand fuel
    - Datalog where the detonation is occuring and submit for support

    HIGH MISFIRE COUNT:

    - Check if your truck requires recall for Crank Shaft Sensor
    - Try Alternative brand fuel
    - We are working on solving this issue that occurs on some trucks

    SURGING AT 1000-1400 RPM:

    - we are working on solving this issue that occurs on some trucks.
    - This is a known issue and exists within the stock programming (stock tune)

    DELAY AFTER FULL THROTTLE SHIFT:

    - Shift tables require attention. Please submit for support (include your modifications that may alter your shifting, including: gears, tire size, wheels, lift, etc)

    Upcoming FLASH MANAGER highlights

    1. Multiple different tune options can be downloaded (Gear lock, FO tables for MT, etc)
    2. Easy to use, complete all in 1 software that lets you get setup right from it.
    3. New customers > no longer will you have to email and wait to receive tune files. There is only ONE piece that will have to be done. Sending us your SYSTEM ID. After receiving your registration key from us, you can download the tune files immediately after and flash the truck.
    4. This ^^ above will cut down wait times significantly, making this process now a same or next day setup at the latest.
    5. Everything is accessible directly from the flash manager ( Flash tool, Drivers)
    6. FUTURE tune updates will be accessible directly from this flash manager. NO more downloading a new one, no more waiting. Simply run the Update checker in the Flash Manager, it will update and automatically provide any new tune options.

New Flash Manager is going to be a game changer in how we update, release, and provide tunes and service.

    **General Information**

Will it be traceable by the dealer? For instance in the case of a warranty issue-- is there a way to revert and clear any trace of it being used?

My body is ready. I'm quite interested to see what you found out, and although I know it is a long shot I hope some of that could pave the way for an OTS tune for the 2.7 2TR-FE.

Well if they can add some mpg, fix shift points and throttle response, I'd be in. But if the can squeeze a few extra hp/tq that would be a plus.
