Well it seems since 1.05 is complete i can finally whip out my Dongle

 

I would love to but the dealer told me no

 

I have the same one, although it remains inserted into the receptacle 24/7. The device surrounding said receptacle, however, is dormant until needed.

 

Not interested in doing it yourself I take it... I get that.

 

I didn’t even bother asking the dealer to do mine. Last time I was at the service department was for a 30k oil change in January when I decided it was too cold and I’d rather someone else freeze their ass off. Everything else I’ve done myself since including the TSB.

I have the techstream, I just don’t have the CUW files. But then I’ll have to put a trickle charger on my battery and stuff

From the blog post, it sounds like this will be an absolutely fantastic build. I am still loving 1.05 but there are a few very slight issues that hopefully will get cleaned up with this total rewrite.

 

Will acceleration be improved in 1.05?

Before the TSB I was honestly getting the tune but after it, I am pretty satisfied with how it drives/shifts after over 5k miles and I test drove a friends 1.04 tune and didn't find much of a difference.

Would really consider it as well if it feels torquier but I can't test that out myself sadly lol, any dyno tests being released for the new version?

 

Yup, and once again the issues you speak of don't affect all trucks. I tried FO 91 twice (400 miles, then about 100) and then went back to MA 91. Others love FO.
FWIW, if this new build has the power and smoothness of 1.04A 91 without any weirdness, I'm happy as a clam.

I had thought about doing the TSB, but wasn't there some talk not too long ago about assistance with "ECU bricking" or some such if something goes wrong no longer being free?

 

There was, but some dicks pissed Mat off at that time.

Also, I believe one guy was able to unfuck his ECU by using PCMflash and a OEM read file (with Mat talking him through it).

 

Dealer told me no. So I did it myself. Significant improvement.
