Is "Install OVTUNE Cable Drivers" in the drop down menu the same as installing the Tactrix openport 2 drivers? I installed the Tactrix drivers a while ago and the new instructions don't mention "OVTUNE Cable Drivers" so I didn't do that one either.

Guess I'll find out when I attempt to flash the 04A61, 87 with gear lock sometime later today I'm hoping.

When taking foot of the gas its not supposed to downshift. And what do you mean by "2" and faster speeds?

Just stick with the Mat's instructions. Sometimes our comments can be confusing if you just go by those. If you get stuck let us know.

I can't remember exactly what menu it was under. I just know that when I tried to "flash it" I kept getting a failure notice.

See #1 below... click that once you've connected your computer to the truck. If #2 is blank, you need to click #1.

The truck drives amazing now, and actually gets out of its own way. The low end torque feels very nice and pulls smoothly all the way to 60. It finally feels really good to drive around town and up canyons here in Utah.

I didn’t see the driver install step either. I just took your advise and installed the driver under the tuning tab but when I open P5Flash Utility my Interface is still blank. Do I need the cables hooked up 1st?

Thanks Dave. My kit will be here on Tuesday. Once I get my license email and hook up my cables I will see what happens.

In my experience, the p5flash interface remained blank until I hooked up the Tactrix for the first time. After that it would always display the interface whether the Tactrix was connected or not.

It's not. Download TS and replace a couple of files by copying and pasting. You dont have to install the other drivers if you already have tactrix driver installed. Activation code for activation is attached and you copy and paste. The steps are there for anyone to follow.[/QUOTE]

I have a 2019 Tacoma trd sport, and after following this thread for quite a while and waiting for the tunes to settle in and hopefully the hand held units to come out, I’m wondering how people would compare the base 87 and the base 91 to the stock tune and the stock tune on ect.
    Thanks

I have the opposite experience taht happened to me multiple times. I was on the highway and speed around 60 mph due to a slow driver so I proceed to switch lanes and press on the gas to accelerate and not get hit by the oncoming traffic on the right lane...i swear my foot was almost at the bottom and the damn thing won’t shift at all. This happened to me multiple times taht I even reset ECU and tranny learned codes. Still does the same thing. I went back to original FW and everything is good.
@OVTune - should I start logging my trips in the hopes of finding the culprit? I’m on 87 perf w/ gear lock.
