    if a flash fails, all you gotta do it identify / clear DTC / Power Cycle / change to the other p5 drop down.

    I've had a couple failures and always got it to go after a couple attempts.

    Hitting the button over and over expecting something different to happen is just crazy.

    We have had a few turbo cars that were screaming for a tune, but I never did it. The 3.5l engine is an excellent motor, but Toyota somehow missed a couple steps on the factory tune. This is the very first motor that I ever installed a tune, other than dropping a physical chip in my motorcycle. It is worth it, to me.

    Please note, that most people here, esp the 2016 Taco owners, are looking for drivability not power. I installed the TSB tune on my own and got OVT earlier this year. I had a lot more butt clench going on with the motorcycle chip than I did with the Taco tunes.

    If it ain't for you, so be it. But, you might be surprised how much the driveability is improved with @OVTune 's effort.

    he is right. the early adopters were not seeking huge power or anything weird or risky. we all had the worst factory tune ever (which has evidently been corrected at the factory now), and it made driving a MT horrible. the whole push in the beginning was about normal driveability. that's the answer to your question, although folks' motivations may be different now, dunno.

    Sorry if it's in one of the lat 100 pages since I checked this thread, but does anyone know if the tune for 4.88 gears is available yet?

    Excellent point here. I think it's probably safe to say that people's expectations and desires for results from the OVT have changed. Those of us who bought the tune early on, especially those of us who have had the tune long enough to have a dongle, we needed a drivability fix. With the TSB from factory, the trucks are better off in an OEM state and so most people now are looking for power, rather than to just make their truck simply drivable and remove the dangerous aspects of the original stock maps

    Actually it's on 2017+ trucks, unless I'm just blind and can't find the alt-s fuse.

    @OVTune ?

    Then why are you on this thread? You may be happy but some of us like the truck to drive better than stock. I have followed this thread and Mat since he started on the 3rd gen tune, to my knowledge he has never not been able to get the tune to work on a truck. Most of the time it has nothing to do with the tune, I would say it user created problem and that's not Mats fault.

    Simply WOW.

    I too would like to know if the OVtune can accommodate different gear ratios.

    Some folks have it @KTJO 4x4 and love it. But just wanted to make sure before I purchase.

    Very curious about this too.... Thinking about biting the bullet and regearing to 4.88’s with the my tune before tire/suspension modifications.

    Can confirm... Work in the parts department of a Toyota dealership, and when the first recall hit with the Corolla CVTs, we had to order 3 computers in for 3 different cars.
