I sent an email a little over a week ago and a PM a few days ago. Figured there would be a delay due to the Holidays but noticed you had some activity on the forum recently. No harm done, glad I got a reply.

That explains it, didn't think there would be an issue with the order though. Payment went through on PayPal and it shows on my bank account.

When someone posts here a notice goes to my email which pops up on my phone, which is why I can respond fairly quick here.

My payment processor captures paypal payments for me and processes them, if the money was taken out I'l check paypal manually and have a kit out tomorrow

So will we be getting a release on Wednesday or later on in the week? Or does it depend on results?

After much thought. I went ahead and ordered the ovtune flash just now. Hope I made the right decision for the price I’m paying.

There are a lot of happy customers. While there are some steps that future customers might be able to avaoid, the final product is well reviewed and seems to be a good product. If I had to gather a rating based on everything I’ve read, I’d say this is a 4.5 out of 5 star product. There have only been (I would say based on memory) maybe less than 5 unhappy customers... I can only think of 1. The product seems to get better with every revision.

That being said, I hope that I get my tune before the release of 1.03 because 1.02 is what much of the reputation is based on. I would speculate however, that 1.03 will still be better.

    In progress.... And getting better!
After a much needed holiday vacation, I sent out the first email for verification last night. Now I eagerly await the reply so I can move on to step two.

Agree, out of the hundreds he's sold to-date 99% seem to be happy (perhaps a poll would be worthwhile once 1.03 drops). I'm very excited to see what 1.03 brings out as this will be the first tune Mat's had the chance to develop with his R&D rig - running tons of test files through it to get it dialed in vs. having to rely on user feedback and the occasional Dyno. All tune versions have been massive improvements over stock for sure at least in my case. Transmission/torque learning and ignition logic (random misfires we all have) are the primary outliers for me at the moment.

2018 Version ECUs are configured completely different. We will be working on an entirely new tune version for 2018.

**toyota base logic is identical** the mapping / binary size / etc is different.

Will the info you glean from the 2018 something that could help us with 16's and 17's?

unlikely, it doesn't even use the same processor

skimming through it, the meat of it is the same (valve timing, fuel, ignition) I'll have more info later on changes

So Toyota's giving you moving target to hit. Does this affect Ver 1.03?

So, I’m at the point where I received the PCMFlash registration key. I hit the link on the OVTuning instructions page that brought me to PCMFlash. It is blank at the drop down menu where it says interface (and I left it that way; there is nothing for me to select from). Anyway, below the drop down menu, there’s a button that says settings. I hit that button, then the paste button. The registration key shows up in the lower window, but the OK button goes gray. Anybody know what I’m doing wrong?

Ok, I just tied it again. The only thing I did different was I hit the activate button (which I didn’t see in the instructions, but maybe I missed it). Looks like it worked... I hope

Has anybody figured out the following error when looking for the USB dongle serial number?

USB dongle is not accessible (0).
Please check if it is connected and restart application.
    Application version: 1.1.83

I've tried re-installing all the drivers, restarting the computer, installing it all on a different laptop. Same error every time...

I ran into the same issue. With that said, the serial number is printed on the side of the dongle itself. I sent Mat the S/N and never ran into any issues down the line.

Have you tried using a different USB port?

But this process is only to register the software/dongle (1 time thing). Since there is no stand alone device to use, it has to be this way. Once you are setup, everything is just an email file and flash. Done in 5 minutes.

And how long does it take for the tune to be sent back to be flashed? I’m not too clear on what happens after I emailed it to ovtune. Does the binary file gets edited based on my driving habits or are the tunes the same for everyone with the same engine/tranny?
