it will take me a little time to figure out exactly the reason and solution, and I am taking modifications into consideration as well.

Thanks Mat. 1.03 is holding me over for the time being, it is light years better than the stock tune. As far as modifications, my truck is stock TRD Pro 04B03.

Under what conditions are you experiencing the clunk? I'm also running 1.04 91 04B03 on a 17 auto.

During braking, when transmission shift from gear 2 to 1 coming to a stop. The harshness / clunk occur under moderate to heavy braking. If I am coming to stop gently, or coasting, no clunk.

I haven't noticed that. I'll keep an eye on it. I have a random clunk every once in awhile but I believe that's just situational and normal with drivetrain slack being taken up.

I've been on 1.04 the very first day it was released and I have to say that I still do get the clunk this same exact way. It was definitely more pronounced in 1.03 but subtle in 1.04. I have a 2017 OR DB 04B03 87 Octane on 87 Tune.

same here. not sure if it was there in 1.03 or not, I'd have to
    reload that one to confirm.

Mine is definitely related to 1.04 tune, because I cannot reproduce it on 1.03 with same braking scenario. Mat is looking into it, I am confident it will get sorted out in time.

I have had this happen once on 1.04 91. Not sure if it was left or right hand turn. It did it more often on 1.03 91.

well, he stated it didn't happen in 1.03 but does in 1.04 so that would rule out a mechanical issue which should happen under the same circumstances regardless of tune.

I found that the clunk was gone in 1.02 but returned in 1.03. Less so in 1.04.

These trucks are indeed something else. My truck driving behavior improved with every tune version up to 1.03. And even with 1.04 for the most part. Had great power delivery, smooth up shifts, nice idle, and improved MPG. Its a shame I have the downshift clunk coming to stop. Another weirdness on 1.04, which I think is related to the rough downshift (gear 2 to 1 shift logic): when making slow right hand turns, sometimes the transmission can't decide to stay in 2nd or 1st, then decides to downshift to 1st. As result, RPM jumps up because its in 1st gear and I look like a jackass trying to peel out. This right hand turn gear "confusion" issue was present in an early tune, maybe 1.02C shift A if I remember correctly?

Pretty sure it's the torque converter in the transmission

I had the same thing before the tune. I only flashed last night so I'll have to drive more to see if its still there. So far so good with this tune. Running 1.04 91.

You would notice it right away if you have the clunk. So if you haven't noticed it after your first drive, you should be good!

I trust Mat will get clunks resolved for you guys. I am the proud owner of a truck that never ever clunks now... thought the day would never come.

    thank you, @OVTune

Installed 1.04 91 tune today and have driven a little over 100 miles joyriding around town, highway speeds and city streets. I hate it. I want my money back. I prefer stock.

    Just kidding.

When I installed the 4.88 gears two months ago I found a new love for my truck. Now with the 4.88 gears AND the OVTune (and 3" MBRP catback and AFE CAI), this truck is absolutely STELLAR.
I have already seen a slight increase in mpg, even though that was not my main reason for the tune.
It runs silky smooth across the power band and throttle control is night and day from stock - my main reason for the tune.

No clunks, no vibrations, no problems thus far, just a smooth running machine that I enjoy so much more than I did before.

OVTune has made an outstanding tune for this truck. THANK YOU MAT.

If you're browsing this thread and you're on the fence for whatever reason, bite the bullet and get the tune.
