The length of this thread is insane, and for a newbie like me I just can't read and digest it all. I am saving $$ to buy this thing but am confused with all that is needed can you confirm this is what is needed? Thanks, I really appreciate it!

    1. The OVtune , https://www.ovtuned.com/products/toyota-tacoma-2grfks-calibration?variant=41531259916

    2. The tactrix https://www.tactrix.com/index.php?p...=53&vmcchk=1&Itemid=53&redirected=1&Itemid=53

    3. And i need some kind of cable that goes from the tactrix to the Laptop????? CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE TO GET THIS?

    4. And i need a Windows laptop (Macs don't work) - and its suggested Windows 7 works best

    5. I assume the instruction will be with the OVtune, and will be something like this https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0885/5830/files/OV_TACOMA_Instruction_v.2.pdf?1549043851370912988. However, reading thru these I am likely to mess something up - but willing to try, since I am on the verge of trading in my truck due to the pathetic performance.

    THANKS!

The tactrix openport 2.0 comes with a usb cable to plug it into the laptop.

    Hello,

I wanted to ask those that are on 1.04, has anyone experienced issues with a "clunking" noise/feel (maybe torque converter?) when coming to a stop. This issue wasn't happening when on 1.03. When driving spiritedly and coming to a stop, the truck's transmission/torque converter just doesn't feel right. My apologies for the wording. I just want to make sure the mechanical integrity of the transmission wont be affected.

1.04/91 - No clunk so far with roughly 750 miles on tune but I have seen people talk about it.

I've seen a lot of comments/complaints about this clunking

Yea, my dad's truck has about 1,000 miles with 1.04, clunking has been there. Tune is great otherwise, just wanted to check in and see what was going on. This thread moves fast!

Pretty neat stuff here. Lots of great information, too much info! Hopefully sometime in the near future I'll be picking up a Tacoma and this will most definitely be on the "to buy" list. I've never been one to leave a vehicle stock coming from the tuner scene. This truck though, I intended to leave as stock as possible. As it may not be as much of a regular occurrence in trucks, especially NA trucks, it is normal that most stock maps are terribly setback for the everyday driver with multiple kinks that often drive tuner type owners crazy! I have yet to drive a Tacoma, but my mind is set on one. Despite some of the short comings, it's great to know companies are tackling such issues.

Are you experiencing this as well? Is there a fix in the works?

Yes, I'm experiencing it once in a while, but it's not extreme. The tune outweighs the annoyance of clunking

I guess the one issue I would have with this is that it seems to be an OTS map. Off the shelf. Meaning they are a 1 size fits all. I am no tuner, but I've always had my previous vehicles tuned independently, creating a map for my specific car and for the gas that I use.

I'm still waiting on the part of adjusting the speedometer built into this according to tire size. Then I think I am definitely going to purchase.
