Does it feel more like a slight miss? Also have you confirmed your trans fluid is filled properly?

My guess would be it’s either low ATF or shift / torque converter behavior. Low fluid is one thing but the rest does seem to be addressed with the tune at least in my case

It feels like a slight miss. But nothing shows up with Techstream

While your doing magic with the ECU what are the chances you can change the flasher settings so we can all use LED lamps everywhere without getting hyperflash ?

Not for longer drives. Gets a bit annoying. It could probably shift to 4th and be fine for cruising and then drop to 3rd under load.

So true. Get it. Be done with the less than acceptable OEM excuses and simply poor driving experiences.

I seen somewhere in a thread that it was causing torque converter thumping. Any truth to that.

I have not heard of that. We wouldnt be telling you to get it if it causes torque converter thumping. I love the tune. I'd be willing to bet that everyone who has it would never go back. I sure as hell wouldn't. You can search for a "OVTune reviews" thread here and read reviews from people who have it and update their reviews as they put more miles on.

That’s what’s weird about 1.04 to me. I get the 1k range frequently when in 4th or 5th around town but my perception of lugging is when (stock) it would hover around there and often lose speed until you punched it and thus the dance went on. I don’t see it dance now like that. It’ll hold the gear without losing speed... if I hit a bigger hill or something it will certainly downshift - at the appropriate time and is very snappy

This coming from one owner who was pissed every single time my truck was “lugging” at 1k... FWIW

it could be, and toyota just released an update for it. however 2018s are not part of the update.

there are so many subtle little things that this truck does on stock tune it's very difficult to give an answer.

Ok. I just reset both engine and transmission learning values. I'll see if that makes any difference. I don't mind spending 600 on the ovtune if I know for sure this issue will be gone and it won't void my warranty. Decisions wtf

I had this issue, think it was related to the torque convert locking up too soon/too fast. Tune fixed it for me.
