2016 Trd off road paint job

The paint job is the same on all models, so if by your thread title you are asking if the paint is different on a TRDOR vs Sport vs Limited, ect then no, they are the same. So maybe rename the thread 2016 Tacoma Paint Quality or something along those lines would be more fitting and get more responses? Who doesn't like a complaint thread and want to read it when they own that vehicle?

As others have said paint is probably pretty good like others, just over the years paints have changed and been thinner so they won't be the same type or thickness as a couple decades ago so they seem worse, but in reality all companies paints are because of the epa and other driving forces to the manufacturers.

There are factory colors that are single stage, white for instance and most reds but if it has metallic in it which Barcelona red does, than it has a clear coat.

 

Paint is better than the 2nd gen . Should have paid the dealer for paint protection right before the truck left the lot . You'd have a good case with the dealer if this is truly the case .

 

Porter cable 7424 polisher & black diamond surface coating works wonders. I have used the same bottle on 3 car/truck detailing a and it is still at least 50% full. Going on a year on the wife's car and still beads up and looks great.

Claybar, detail, seal. (Klasse products are nice too)
