Very Interesting! I like the multi terrain select like the 4runner trail. Now if they could get the ride height to raise when in Low Range I might not do any mods to it! Naw that's crazy

Haha, oops, I just realized it was at Toyota's test facility in Arizona, not the Baja.

One way to tell where you are: The cardón cactus in Baja are much larger, taller, have more branches than Arizona's sahuaro cactus.

Alright, I found a pic of the center stack on the Off Road (maybe this has been posted). Looks pretty featured out... digital temp heat, heated seats, wireless charging, etc Inside it looks just like the Limited except for the leather.

Yep but look at that shifting patter to the left of the stick.

Those Plus | Minus symbols indicate manual shifting and manual shifting means they could be controlled by electronic paddles via steering wheel . . .

Hmmm, this is getting good ! ! !

That is what I'm thinking about the front bumper as well. The flares are no longer two pieces. You'll have to cut, and under the headlight will be a challenge as well because it wraps upward around that huge nose, I mean grill.

Nope! The ATRAC is incorporated with the "crawl control" feature. It works both going up and down hills. 3162dfbd3b8214bc03d4495cedd0aa85_457f84183dc71839aded93f15f335bf2f4f10374.jpg

Where did you get the idea that ATRAC is incorporated in the crawl control from? That's not what I have read.

The Toyota guy during the unveiling of the off road truck only said that crawl control regulated the throttle and braking. Also, after checking out a 4Runner forum it doesn't sound like ATRAC is incorporated in it with the 4Runners. I'm not sure that crawl control will turn all four wheels on demand, like ATRAC does, it might only brake each tire individually and regulate the throttle no differently than if you pressed on the gas with your foot.

I watched the Q&A after the release and they talked about it. The crawl control controls the hill descent and ascent and throttle and braking. It seems like an updated version of the ATRAC basically.

I also just noticed the 4WD dial differs between the off-road and limited models. 63256b00208bc6d511d6f7d05f40a32d_8cfa8eaef08a7218c6cdcafdb57fc26a3f0f42a6.jpg

No that's not necessary what ATRAC does. When your in 4x4 you're getting power to two wheels, one wheel the front and one wheel on the back opposite side. The way I understand it is with ATRAC if either of those wheels start to spin, then it will use the braking system to move the opposite tire that usually gets no power. It's almost like having a front and rear locker, but with the other two wheels only getting power on demand from the braking system.

From what I have read in 4Runner forums, their crawl control only controls the throttle the same as when you press on the gas with your foot, and it brakes each tire individually. If that's true then it's not the same as ATRAC and it wouldn't be incorporated, but I can't really say for sure.

Oh that may be in but I've heard so many different things. No one can understand ATRAC apparently. Lol. From what I heard in the Q&A though, that's everything crawl control does. So I know it takes place of the old hill descent control from previous models. And from what I understood ATRAC is incorporated with it. I'll find out everything when I go to see it at the show.

You guys should all list questions you'd like and I'll make a long list of them for the toyota nerds there.

I have ATRAC in my truck and have researched it extensively. I just gave you a pretty clear description of exactly what it does in my last post. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe you. I don't think you're wrong at all. I'm just passing info from what I heard from the actual tacoma engineer.

Well did this engineer straight out say that "ATRAC is incorporated into the crawl control", or did he say "The crawl control controls the hill descent and ascent and throttle and braking."?

In your previous post you made it sound like he said the later, and that you made the jump to that it being the same as ATRAC.
