The trucks VIN numbers are in a system. You reserve the VIN and they take your order and build it

The problem is if you get the offroad you HAVE to get the premium and technology package. He tried to put it in the computer without the premium and technolgy package and it would not accept it.

A guy I was dealing with down here in the Bay Area contacted me last week about the allotment of 4 he was expecting. He put me in for TRD OR Access Cab Automatic in Silver (I'd prefer white, but color isn't a big deal for me, offloading my Jetta is). No financial commitment (it is part of a program the company I work for has). The specs (including VIN) I was sent looked good, aside from every nit-picky add on (paint protection, first aid kit, etc).

I also have a friend w/ family connections to a dealership I am waiting to hear back on. I just want the truck now. I don't commute, but I'd like my jetta gone.

No, you don't. CA dealerships got 100% of their TRD OR WITHOUT that package. They didn't get a single one with it. Check the above screenshot.

You got taken for $$ by a salesman lol

Is HH the Premium and technology package? Im gonna go there again tomorrow. Either the system is messed up or he doesnt know what hes doing. Or hes trying to make me spend more money.

The above screenshot was from a dealership in LA. It depends on location I suspect and things can change. The spec sheet I have a copy of included the premium tech package which I wanted.

That's great you are trying to make yourself feel better by ridiculing OP but, he's not in the LA region so what is or isn't available to him you don't know about.

The OP said he didn't want the HH or FP package so we are trying to show him that it's possible to get it without. His dealer will find him one if they want the sale

I'm not surprised the 3.5's peak torque number is lower than the current 4.0. During the interviews and press releases, the Toyota's spoke person would always quote an "increase in HP and MPG", and only quote HP and MPG. Having 261 isn't terrible, it's the @4600 rpm that's got me a little worried.

I just hope the mpg for a 3.5 4x4 is at least if not better than 17/24.

Oh, congrats on the new truck, and much props for getting the 6 speed manual! Save the Manual! While it sucks you had to pay extra, it was still a wise choice with the blacked out grill, I would have done exactly the same. If the next Gen 3 TRD quick shift is anything like the Gen 2 it will be well worth the wait and money, I love mine.

Yes, I understand that he didn't want those packages but my point was I don't think anyone has seen the pre-order sheets for his region to know what he can order and maybe he is stuck with that stuff for his region, which would suck.

Congrats to the OP!! Keep us posted on the ETA of your truck.

What is Smart Stop Technology, listed in the posted spec sheet?

One can never have too many light bars.
The 1-GR makes a little more power from 91 Octane I'm sure this motor will do the same thing.
