I installed the TRD Pro Skid Plate this morning. It is very well engineered, fitted and finished. It also is WAY stiffer and stronger than the TRD OEM Skid Plate.

For anyone who cares to know, the OEM Skid Plate, with bolts, weighs 12.4 lbs. The TRD Pro Skid Plate, with bolts, weighs 27.2 lbs. Difference is 14.9 lbs.

Sorry, I didn't take any photos. It really just looks like everyone else's TRD Pro Skid Plate.

Made of aluminum and powder coated, the RCI is $340 before shipping. The trd is $357 at one place before shipping. It is also 1/4 aluminum and powder coated.

I am trying to make this same decision also. The Rci bolts up with 4 bolts, and the pro with 6 is something to consider. I like how the trd has slots and raised parts to let dirt and water out.

I love the TRD pro skid. Just installed it over the weekend. Was a pain in the butt to install it alone. Heavy duty.

I also installed it alone, and it was a bit awkward. But really heavy duty and secure. Access to oil filter and drain plug is a plus.

Is it just thicker than the OR version or does it cover more? I can't really tell from photos
