My Tacoma has 42,000 miles. Today I was at some property bush hogging with a tractor. When done cranked truck and drove 5 minutes to a place I needed to stop. Left Tacoma idling for 2 minutes, backed up and changed transmission to Drive. Immediate stalled and got “high transmission temp” message. Put in Park and cranked fine, drove off and rode on Interstate for 30 minutes with no issues. Truck normal since then. Any ideas what happened? The trans oil temp could not have really been high since driving on 7 minutes? No 4 wheeling and no towing. The TRDOR has rowing package with trans oil cooler and it was properly filled initially. Another thread mentions the crankshaft position sensor? What symptoms would that present? The message was “trans oil temp Hi”. The message and stalling happened when changing from reverse to drive and I always stop before changing directions. Thanks

All is good. Forget about it.
Here’s a recent thread about it.

Thanks. I think today I was in a hurry and didn’t stop before putting in Drive and I did hit throttle. Makes sense. I’ll make sure and completely stop from now on. I always do on pavement but on dirt or grass I may be more aggressive. No more
