First let me thank our vendors for donating to this event. It is incredible that you are so willing to support such a community. Thank you.

I know how this is going to sound but I am trying to figure out some of this years events

It would appear that half of the 1st place winners received half the value as other 1st place winners, it would also appear that first place mod received the most generous winnings and the second place mod received equal value to the the 1st place winners of the more rewarded winners (250 in GCs and a pair of $360 lights.) g34 lights (edit- did I mention ~30% of our mod staff won? excluding tcbob and including the inactive ones)

I also noticed that even though announced that members couldn't win more than once, they did. Oops? Additionally another winner has been inactive for more than 6 months.

Then I wondered where all @Mobtown Offroad's donations went. I believe I also heard/read some vendors donated more than given out. Poof gone I guess?

Lastly the mysterious winner that is getting donations without voting. This kind of defeats the purpose of the entire event in my eyes. Hand picking an individual that the mods deemed fit. If you ask me this whole thing is looking like it is favoring a particular group of people on the forum.

    /rant

Would appreciate some answers, even if you don't think we/I am owed them.

I'll try and explain more sometime this weekend/next week, but do note- the prizes listed are chosen (category/winner) from the vendor.

Again, any extra prizes are donated to said forum member agreed upon by the staff as a whole.

having had very little involvement in this stage of the event I will only comment on what i know for sure....
some vendors offered up the same prize for each category
some vendors offered up prizes/$$ amounts for specific categories
some vendors offered up prizes without specifying which category
so the majority of who got what was decided by the vendors, not the staff

also, i plan on giving away most of what i've won. and what i won was specified by the vendors, not decided by the staff. i'll have to check with the specific vendors first but i hope to be able to pay it forward and offer up some of the mod of the year prizes to others.

Lisa I know a lot of individuals that will end up donating the winnings, which is awesome. But that's not what i'm trying to point out is not correct. Only one of my concerns has really been addressed being that vendors chose which category their gifts go to, which could make some since why the mod winnings pool is so inflated.

@sean266 Instead of just vendor of the year, which turns into I bought my junk from that guy so I'll vote for him, maybe best new product by a vendor or best contribution to the community by a vendor.

We wanted to thank the Tacoma World Members and staff for all your support this past year. We are extremely honored and very touched to be awarded the title of Vendor of the Year for 2016. Since we became an official vendor on this forum we have worked as hard as we can to help everyone who has come to us and provide not only products, but unbiased guidance and support. Many of our customers have become more than just clients, they have become friends. Even though this forum has over 145,000 members it is still feels like a small community of truly great people. Well most of the people are great, there are some questionable ones in the NC and SC areas, you know who you are ;). But in all seriousness you all are wonderful and it is our pleasure to serve you.

Thank you again for your support, it truly means the world to us.

    Sincerely,

    HeadStrong Off-Road

Not a bad proposal, but at the same time I think some people did in fact vote based on this. Its really up to the person voting to make a decision on who they feel deserves the title and why. If the voting were made specific like best new product OR which vendor contributed the most to the TW I can see where this would literally knock out the small guys who maybe don't have the time nor funding to develop new products or contribute to the community as much as they would like to. Maybe all they really have on the table is literally hours of dedicated time to their customers to ensure at the end of the purchase each customer is happy. For the masses maybe this is in fact what people care about most, the customer service side of a business, which personally I feel is the most crucial part to a company's success and perhaps the most challenging.
