I saw another video which showed that the back of the Limited doesn't any outlets or vents. I just find it a little ironic that they offer wireless charging, but don't put anything in the back seat of a $30K+ vehicle so that your passengers can charge their devices. Especially considering these ports are super cheap and easy to include. The GM twins have had 4 USB ports (1 under the stereo, 1 in the center console and 2 in back) and a 12v outlet in back since last year.

I think that's why in the video preview image the guy has a big smile on his face....a smile of disbelief.

He continues with the sentence saying "f#ck Toyota you are asking 40K for this truck, that plus it's 2016 and my sisters 2012 Kia Rio has 3 USB ports and powered/ventilated seats. What the hell are you thinking? What kind of person aside from a Tacoma fanboy is going to put up with this sh!t?"

At least that's how I translated it.....

Yeah this is the one serious gripe that I have. How are you supposed to road trip in this vehicle with adults? Apple charging cable is only 1m. a 12v outlet in the rear would allow you to put a usb splitter back there for phone/tablet charging. This is a serious oversight given how pervasive portable technology is in society.

Not really. The front USB port sucks for charging anyway.

Besides all of that, the thread clearly states there will be 2,016 USB ports in the truck so really I'm not sure why that isn't enough.

Lots of options to install 1 or 2 yourself.
yes it would be much better if they provided them.

Don't you have to rip up all the carpet and stuff to run the power?

IIRC, my phone still loses battery power when it's connected to the factory USB port. I assume it's only for USB interfacing to the head unit for music, or maybe to charge something like a Bluetooth ear piece or something.

Which is probably why they don't have them for every seat, and while they're incredibly under powered - they're not intended to be used as charging ports.

I found that if you cut straight lines with a sharp knife that when you lay the carpet back down you can't really tell it's been all ripped up.

There are many ways to wire something.
And if under the carpet is the only way (which it isn't) it's not that hard. Don't need to 'rip' it out.

Nice? For a $30K+ vehicle in 2015 it should be expected, especially when the competition has 4.

True, and I won't buy until the content justifies the price. Thankfully I won't be in the market for one until late next year, so maybe the 2017 upgrade (if there is one) will include more.

Let me guess: there's no cigarette lighter port either that you could actually use to power things.

Or perhaps Toyota might step up and treat it's loyal customers with the respect they deserve, and I won't have to. Of course, for that to happen, Toyota buyers need to stop bending over and taking what Toyota tosses out.

    Can someone here quantify reliability?

Please do so and then subtract the cost of that feature and tell me the true cost of the vehicle?

Who cares about the USB. Where the fuck are the ports for SD cards, HDMI and Thunderbolt?

Even my shitty $400 laptop has all of those things, but Toyota couldn't be bothered in a $40k truck? Fucking outrage!
