    I gained 50hp with my aem intake. The other day a gtr lined up with me and I told him I had a cai and he turned off cause he knew I was going to smoke his sorry ass.

    Depending on what you physically change on the intake, you may be altering how the MAF sensor is reading. If you change the diameter of the tube where the sensor is mounted, it will throw off how much air the sensor thinks is coming through. This, in turn, affects how the computer calculates fuel trim and use.

    Are you measuring MPG based on what the dash says, or how many miles driven divided by gallons put in the tank?

    no because your ecu will always correct the air flow anyways. unless you have a tune and literally change that factor in the tables.
