If they change the rear dif ratio does that mean 4th gear is no longer 1:1?

Call a dealer and ask for their internet sales rep or digital sales, they can lookup the specs of the 2017, When I called he confirmed to me the 2017s have 4.3, across the board, v6 AT and v6 MT.. :notsure:

It would have zero affect on tranny gears.

What sounds fishy is the manual going to 3.9:1. Makes no sense there.

I have to admit I'm jelly of the power rear window. It's not enough to get me to switch already, though. There'd have to be a rear disk brake and/or significant MPG increase for me, personally.

I think Toyota is scrambling because sales have started to tank in last couple of months. Still high for the overall sales year but last couples of months are dipped and they were selling more 2015's at this time a year ago . Also, GM is making massive gains on them. This is not a diss just the facts. No need to defend Toyota honor here. Sales don't always equate to quality but sometimes they do. I hope a fire has been lit under Toyota's ass because the gen 3 was roll out was kind of a huge blunder.

Huh? Tacoma sales are as high or higher than ever. Toyota sales overall dipping would not be the reason for a change on the Tacoma.

I don't want to assume, but maybe they mistook sales dropping form one plant as sales dropping overall. Who knows, but the sales numbers, posted here just the other day, show they're on the high end of what they ever are. lol

Can you share the entire article? It wants money from me to see in its entirety. I find this a little tilted by just reading the headline. And the reason so, what has been missing the last few mths at Toyo dealerships??? Tacoma's! There're folks on here with mth's old deposits and are just now being told they're getting 017's. If you don't have inventory on the lot naturally your sales numbers will be LOW!

What happened was there was a huge sales boom when the Tacoma gen 3 was released, then they tapered off big time. Returning to sub-2015 numbers. Look at those gains by the GM twins too.

Lets be honest, most of the surge are people that a) where ready to move into a Tacoma but were waiting on new gen b) fanboys who moved into the "latest and greates" (I'm one), so this was sort of expected. Not to mention honestly you can get a full size with more capability, more content and better/same MPG for the same price or a few thousand more after rebates (also have been one of those), so hard to justify to the budget shopper why they should be in a Tacoma instead.

2.7% is tapering off big time? What planet are you from? Good grief. Down less than 3% a year after it's hottest point is fantastic.

There are plenty of them on the lots here in AZ. I'm standing in the service department looking at 6 of them on the lot and 2 on the show floor.

Could maybe just the Pro have 4.30 gears? With the way toyota is, it surely has to be a misprint.

I love how Tacoma apologists always have to defend the honor of the Tacoma even if it has nothing to do with how their actual truck drives. Honestly, I could care less how something sells. My whole point is the gen 3 sales bubble popped and GM is making major inroads. Probably largely in part to all of the issues the gen 3 is having. I am not insulting your manhood or truck. Just saying Toyota should have done more and they are scrambling.
