Just dropped mine off at my local dealership and confirmed again with the tech that it was going to be physically checked and not with just techstream. Went over the procedure with him to make sure he knew what he was talking about. Was told it will take around 2-5 hours depending on how long it takes the trans to cool down to the correct temp. Will post my results later today.

Just got my truck back. ATF was half a quart low and also got TSB done. Didn't really have any issues before but the truck drives so much better now. This is on a 2017 trd sport btw so the tsb definitely does not come preloaded on them.

I can double confirm this. My 2017 also did not come pre-loaded.

I have a 2017 DCSB OR on order. I just spoke with the new car sales manager from the dealership in Austin that ordered the truck for me. He said that Gulf States Toyota (GST) (port) is aware of the low transmission fluid issue with the trucks with the tow package. They actually held the first 2017s for two weeks at port to check the transmission fluid after the tow package is added (more capacity is added due to the cooler). He said all is good now with the 2017s that are leaving the port. Thought this may be helpful to some.

Good news, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I was told today that my truck is in, I will pick it up Tuesday when I am back in town. I asked them to double check the transmission fluid level. We will see what the reality is.

That's good news. My appointment is next Friday. Hopefully, I don't run into any bullshit with the SA.

My 2017 hit the port in Houston (Gulf States Toyota) on 09/01/2017 and it didn't get to my dealers lot until this last Wednesday, which he said was unusually long, so I wonder if this is the reason why it took so long?

    Most likely the reason.

Even if my dealer won't agree to it initially I would offer to pay if it checked out good.

I have only driven it about 100 miles so far but it seems to shift fine to me. No hunting gears and no delays or hard shifts.

He said he would have mine checked, just to be sure. He knew the proper procedure - told me without asking. Like that he offered to do it without me asking. I have bought from him before - great guy.

Transmission fluid after not changing for 90,000 miles.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
Honestly with good magnets / filters and quality synthetics I'd imagine 90,000 miles isn't the problem. The issue I see is that I won't put 90,000 miles on my truck in 5 years likely, and with the added stress of heat, I'd think the fluid was start breaking down at a molecular level at around the 5 year mark...regardless of mileage.

So I'll probably just pay the dealer to do it at say 40 or 50, which should be 3 or so years into ownership for me anyways. Perhaps unnecessary, and we on this forum are known for over fiddling with our vehicles, but I had a Torque Converter go out on my last truck and I'd really like to maintain my transmission as best I can to ensure long life before failure.

Its unsettling that even on the 17's this issue still exists.

Went to the dealer today to take my 2017 TRD OR in and had the TSB performed. Also had them check transmission fluid. Mine was 0.5 quart low. They filled it up. Will see tomorrow how it drives and if the P to D delay went away.

Ok guys, if you are not experiencing any shift delay problems would you suggest that the truck still have the TSB done and ATF checked. Thoughts.....
