Nah man, I think they were talking about the $36k for an SR5. Mine was like 5 grand less than that.

How long did you finance for? What percentage rate did you get? Have you considered vehicles are priced differently depending on the region they are sold in?

I've been here for about a year, read most threads and have not seen anything like your symptoms. Good luck and let us know.

Don't respond to the trolls about what you paid for the truck. They just want to let you know that the salesman that sold them their truck ate peanut butter and jellies for weeks, they made the dealer earn their business, and the dealer eventually went out of business because of their sale. A "good deal" is one that both the dealer and the consumer are happy with, period. I'm glad the dealer towed your truck, gave you a loaner, and are going to fix your truck. Good luck to you.

Sorry about your luck @Romy. I grew up in Maine and maybe your missing gears went to Florida to get a break from the Nor-Eastah's. :D

I am glad the dealer is being accommodating and hopefully they come to a speedy resolution.

Did you get any check engine lights?
Edit: did you try to troubleshoot? turn off and on the truck, disconnected the battery?

I agree. If you've got negative equity, Tacoma's are just about the smartest car to add it to.

I didn't do any troubleshooting beyond turning it off and on and trying S mode shifting.
I never checked the trans fluid, I didn't know that was something you were supposed to do on a brand new truck. Its had the first two services done, the most recent in January. Don't they check fluids then?
I mistakenly said the dealer was treating me well, they actually haven't done a thing. Called today they haven't looked at it. Toyotacare took care of the towing.

No you shouldn't have to do shit. Seriously, it's a new truck with a warranty, that's the dealers job. Sadly your experience with the dealer sounds like what my dealer usually does.

This shouldn’t be too tough for the dealer to handle , I mean the truck doesn’t move. So at least this time they can’t say no problem found or normal or we tried another one it was the same blah blah blah LOL.
