I mainly use a truck for wintertime activities and can get by for while without a new truck (which I currently need).

How early in the year do you guys think I will be able to place an order for a 2017? And how soon did the 16s hit the lot? Just wondering if I'll have to end up with a 16 if I want to have it ready for September.

    Canada.

To be honest I'm paying attention to the TRD pro and also for possible updates due to any issues Toyota my be looking to address as the 16s were a first run engine / chassis.

Earliest you will see a '17 in Canada is Late Sept...more likely Oct. 16....

They have not even released the 16's in Mexico yet... The 3rd world country that makes 1/2 of them... go figure, eh..??

I'm hoping they actually fill the transmissions, grease the "U" joints, tighten the "U" bolts on the rear springs, AND check the diffs...!!

That would be a MAJOR improvement to the crap they gave us this year, eh..??

With reports coming in like this there's a reason I would like to wait and see if they make any updates on the 17s

I'd be happy with a offroad in a dc version of some sort, instead of just the Access cab. Might have to go pro myself to get what I want, which is sad as I am sure it will come at a premium for a lot of the features I do not need/want.

Yeah same here, and with the 6spMT they are suppose to have. Will see though, i can build just as/if not better truck with a standard Offroad and modifying probably for a lot less.

Honestly could get by with a sport probably, but I will wait and see about this fall before I make the decision.

From what I understand is that the low transmission fluid has been a problem on the 2nd gens as well.

My 2006 did not show any signs of low fluid, but when I did a "drain-n-fill" myself, at 30,000kms... It was 1.25 liters low. I did notice a change for the better though..!!

I don't know why it has taken Toyota so long to address the low transmission fluid problem. If they haven't addressed it by now, doesn't mean that it will be changed for the 2017 model. Its not like they change anything in production. It will just be a few minor trim changes for 2017.

    Hopefully soon a Tacoma
Actually in México the 2016 was released in late october, but due to the high demand it lasted less than a week on show at the dealers. There is a waiting list that goes from 3 to 8 months, since most of the trucks go to the US. Nevertheless, the 2017 model is supposed to arrive in september and probably will be announced before many get their 2016 trucks. So yeah, being in the third world sucks, we don't even get the off road, just a trimmed down version of the sport.

Well Canada isn't exactly a third world country, and all we get is the TRD sport oh and the ACLB Offroad. It would be nice to actually get the TRD offroad in DCSB/DCLB versions. Here is hoping for 2017 model year!!!

If Toyota Canada doesn't feel that the Offroad will sell. They won't bring it here.
