I absolutely despise NBCSC right now. 5 minutes of race then 10 minutes of commercials

Sebastian winning and then Valteri coming second would be the perfect ending for this race

Huge F1 Fan, and I'm glad there's a thread! Excited for the Ferrari-Mercedes beef this season. I was up late last night and caught the last 20 or so laps (plus Mark Webber). RIP Haas...

Was a good race and I'm glad it wasn't as bad for McHonda as it was during testing. Maybe they can wrinkle out the kinks in time to see a podium. Probably not though. Well here is to hoping that Botas finishes the season above Lewis and below the Prancing Pony.

Wow a "Mer-stake" in tactics from the Hamilton camp, how surprising (not). At least he had a clean start. Bottas was letter perfect, Ferraristi the world over are saying "finally!", Haas looked good until they didn't, McHonda did the opposite - who'da thunk it?

I'm excited for a good battle at the front this year. I honestly think Hamilton may have given in to the pressure Seb was putting on early in the race. He always whines about tires but he proved last year that he can make them last as long as anyone. That stop was far, far too early.

I think the race proved that the theory that the Mercedes car is not good in the wake of another car and only really dominates in clear air was somewhat validated

I don't disagree, but Hamilton (bad strategy and all) was in the clear until his pit stop and didn't make enough time to stay ahead of Vettel . Race pace seems closer than I originally thought. I still think Merc has an edge, maybe 5 tenths or more, but it's the closest it's been in a while. I was impressed with Red Bull, they are not totally out of the hunt either, I wouldn't be surprised to see them very close on the more aero friendly tracks. By mid-season the top 3 teams may be very close indeed.
Now if McHonder can find 2-3 seconds it will be a championship.

Sure seemed that way. There was talk about having to warm up the new tires 'just so' and maybe Vettel did a better job of that than Ham. But I think it is more a case of Ferrari being a true competitor, of there being 2 top teams this year. And that's exciting.
