Nobody mentioning how well Bottas managed that first lap. Or that he was only a couple of points out of 2nd in the driver's championship for a while during the race. Truth is that Vettel's drive, brilliant as it was, was really to hang on to 2nd.

I think the first lap stuff was partly a couple of drivers with a huge case of nerves, but mostly just racing.

Yep. And Hamilton was on marbles and maybe wasn't able to accelerate as quickly. Racing incident.

To be honest I'm still pumped about this season. There are still several close fights in both the driver's and manufacturers championships. For others the pressure is off and they can just relax and race, which should be entertaining. Plus McHonda and Red Bull seem to have found some serious pace late in the season, will it continue and what does that bode for the future?

Nope, they are looking at decreasing fuel use.

    F1's 2021 engine plans at a glance

    • The 2021 power unit to be a 1.6 Litre, V6 Turbo Hybrid
    • 3000rpm higher engine running speed range to improve the sound
    • Prescriptive internal design parameters to restrict development costs and discourage extreme designs and running conditions
    • Removal of the MGU-H
    • More powerful MGU-K with focus on manual driver deployment in race together with option to save up energy over several laps to give a driver controlled tactical element to racing
    • Single turbo with dimensional constraints and weight limits
    • Standard energy store and control electronics
    • High Level of external prescriptive design to give 'Plug-And-Play' engine/chassis/transmission swap capability
    • Intention to investigate tighter fuel regulations and limits on number of fuels used

Yes but they would be able to save energy over multiple laps

Yep he was fighting the car and trying to get on the gas asap, and hamilton was not as fast on the gas with the flying dutchman immediately in front of him. Its a racing incident. Neither parties really got anything out of it.

What a race by Max though. That cheeky fucker just couldn't back down after the renaults began falling like flies, and he kept pushing the envelope.

Some would say this is the Senna pre-monaco '88, good or bad. Definitely deserved the win though.

I gotta say though, I realllllly really enjoyed watching Alonso and Lewis battle for position. Can you imagine if the McLarens were actually good this year? What a waste of talent.

According to Alonso the McLarens have the best chassis in the field right now. They just need horses. That don't die.

They seem to have a pretty good chassis, they don't get passed much in the corners. I think with a little more power they would have been up there with Ferrari this year.
