I have a JBL system in my 2017 Limited Tacoma. I plugged my iPod into the AUX jack and not only do I not have the ability to change songs in my playlist but I cannot change songs via the steering wheel controls. My Playlist songs don't appear on the screen either so I can see what song is next, etc. Songs play, but I have to change them through the iPod itself which is difficult while driving. Every car I have ever had with an iPod installed allowed access to the Playlist and had the ability to scan through the songs via the head unit and steering wheel controls. Is there something I need to do to have a fully functional iPod operate through the JBL stereo?? Thanks!

I don't have a 2017 w/ jbl but I will go out on a limb and say they are all the same in the sense that..... using the aux is JUST an input. meaning you can plug in anything that has an output to hear audio. ie ipod, laptop apple android whatever you want. try using the usb with a good ( not gas station or ebay ) apple cable. I use the usb on my 15 Tacoma with jbl

I plugged the iPod via USB cable into the USB port below the stereo and the USB Icon on the screen does not light up so I cannot select it. Am I doing something wrong?

I hate to have the cable and iPod laying in the console. Is there an adapter I can put on the radio so I can hide the iPod and cable in the glovebox?

What version of iPod are you talking about? I can't say that they're going to support all models.
