Sounds like the broker does not understand the MSD program. It has nothing to do with credit. Recalculate the lease with a MF discounted by .00072, each security deposit is equal to 1 payment rounded up to the nearest $25. So 9 payments rounded to the nearest $25 (higher) payment. Payment is made all at once. At the end of the lease (can take up to 60 days) the security deposits come back to you in 1 check. You can apply that money however you choose, you will work that out with TFS at that time whether you want the money back or apply it to the next lease.

The broker may be confused because security deposits are automatically "waived" for people with tier one credit, but that does not mean you can't or shouldn't take advantage. It's a no brainer if you have the cash.

Thank you for the Info. I will definitely inquire.

I made a couple of corrections to my original figure:
Residual is 75% (not 77%.. I originally calculated sale price / residual amount when it's supposed to be retail price / residual amount)
Fees and TTL totals $1,060 (410 title, 650 acquisition fee + doc fee)

I used two sites to calculate:
https://leasehackr.com/calculator/ - to calculate MSD was very useful
http://www.ridewithg.com/calculator/index.html - to determine deal rating.

I plugged in the same numbers, but the end results for the monthly payments all calculated differently (with tax) for the two sites.. They're close enough though. I have not received an itemized cost as I have yet to receive a production date/VIN.

    Broker - $399
    leasebacks - $368 (no MSD)
    ridewithg - $414

new member here but frequent leaser. Right now I am working on a deal that will give me a DC TRD off road with premium msrp at 39k. Lease for 350/ month nothing down all taxes fees figured into the payment ,no trade. Pretty good lease deal.

The way I see it, I can lease this vehicle and at the end of the lease term I will have paid a total of $12,600. If I purchased and say I did a the buy out is about 25k or something. So the vehicle goes away at the end of the lease and I "lost" 12,600 dollars by having the vehicle.

If i bought the vehicle, for lets say 36 k, got great financing at .9% at 48 months, I would pay $764/month the total loan would cost me $36,600. Lets say after I get it paid off and I want a new one because I have never owned a vehicle longer than 3 years. They would give me say $24k for my truck. So I paid 36,600 for my truck and received a total of 24k for it so I "lost" 12,600 dollars on it for owning it for 4 years.

The two totals of lost money over the course of the lease and purchase are the exact same. Big difference is my wife will let me spend 350/month but it will be a cold day when she approves 765/month. Lease works for me.

Last thing I will say is I pay no mind to the miles I put on. If I go way over I go way over. I just buy it out at the end and trade it in so they cant ding you. This only works on vehicles like wranglers tacomas and 4runners that dont lose value. I even made $3,600 on a rubicon lease once lol.

Haha, I like your thinking man (or woman). I raise a little eyebrow when people make general comments like "leasing is bad." Every situation is different. 350/month is a way easier pill to swallow, and I'll be standing right there with you, brother, on a cold day in hell when my boss wife says yes to 765 a month. This is my 5th leased car, and each previous lease has worked out for the better for me. My 4runner lease is up next month. I can buy it out for $25k plus tax. Or sell it for close to $30k.

Little wrench I'll toss in on the 764 a month payment. If you have a vehicle to trade in because you bought your last one, that will drastically reduce the monthly payment. Which is why my payment is under 450 a month. Granted I will keep it longer and my wife is currently waiting for my truck to be paid off so she can get a new ride. this way we only have one vehicle payment at a time.
