2017 Nascar Thread

Of all the tracks I've been to, large, small, dirt, asphalt, Charlotte always has the worst traffic plan and enforcement. We're going to be in this parking lot (Zmax) until after 11. Nobody knows what the tootin' heck they're doing. No cops back here. We literally took a shortcut and drove across the dragstrip. No security. We could've raced somebody.

 

Congrats to clean air for the win tonight.

 

But y didn't you race then?

 

I had a grumpy 6yo in the back seat.

 

Also: People booed two drivers during intros: Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson.
They cheered Chase Elliott and Earnhardt the most.
At the conclusion, people were pretty pissed. People were yelling "Candy Ass," referring to Busch. They were throwing beers on the track. Mike Helton himself broke in on the track PA to yell like a gym coach for people to stop or face arrest.

 

Jesus can they just get rid of the splitters and side skirts already, it's getting stupid.

 

Not much different than a Sat night at the down home short track.

Saturday, prior to the All-Star Open. Seats were pretty empty until the beginning of the actual All-Star race, then they filled in pretty well. Certainly better than Atlanta crowds:

Sure is! Somehow more excited for the Indy 500. Probably because Charlotte has been a snooze fest for the past few years..
