I had my rant, I stand behind the no passing, but I will give NASCAR this, they seem to have stopped the bullshit cautions for now.

They've been sick of it longer than I have, why you think Edwards left so abruptly?

    Options:
Leave. Go late model racing. Start a rival series with Humpy Wheeler.

I welcome the downfall of modern NASCAR. Let it burn. May the cookie cutter tracks crumble to dust.

Yeah. Same as always. I'm a broken record on this: Ditch the splitter, valence, reduce spoiler, slim up the tires. Make 'em bias ply so they have to save them and manage them. Cut the cornering speeds either by aerodynamics or dropping HP numbers back to 400-500hp range. Get the engineers out of the sport and put the driving back in the driver's hands. Make the drivers wrench on their own cars.

In F1 they can pass with those big ass tires this year. I do think tires is too much of a factor for wear anyway...

But we all know that will never happen and they'll put more tech in the cars so the drivers can "drive" them which means more engineers etc...

NASCAR has been ruined by money hungry ceo's and unless a visionary who is willing to take a chance comes along, local tracks is your best bet. Which is why I hit up south Boston every other weekend, awesome racing.

The only people protecting nascar at this point are people that seldomly watch or have hopped a band wagon 5-10 years ago, I've never met anyone happy with nascar that supports local tracks or has been following since early 90s, ever.

I started following in 2013, and it is shit. Went to a race and fell in love. Now they can't pass and it's bullshit.

Yea the racing from 99-05 was the best imo. They've tried so hard to compensate for DE that they've hurt themselves too far for fixing, they got a lot of work to do, but I'll support as much as I can. If there are several years of 2017 racing I'm out 100%.

Barney Visser says the #77 team is one & done. They'll return to a one car team next year. So I imagine Kenseth will try to get in at Hendrick. He's a holdover from a different era when the big bucks were rolling in. He'll have to take a pay cut wherever he goes.

    Truex's girlfriend's cancer has returned.
