I passed by there about 3 hours ago. Was down South for a funeral. If I didn't have the whole fam with me I totally would've stuck around for the race.

2/3 of my Southern 500s included free or reduced Saturday tickets. Sunday is too long a race for my kiddo. I get tired by the 400 mile mark too. I'd love to take him to Darlington for the Xfinity race. Wife says it's a no-go. Kids are free on Saturday. Hard to say NO to such a deal.

Who do y'all have for today's race? Hamlin, Harvick, and Jones are the obvious picks. Logano (a former winner) could turn his season around in the 22.

Southern 500: Hard to bet against Harvick and Truex. Would love to see Larson or Blaney get the win.

Well, not the ending I'd hoped for but a hell of a run by Hamlin. He's made a lot of pit road mistakes this season. Tough night for Truex. I tell ya, that finish yesterday was even better. Joey just shot himself in the foot so bad on the restart and every subsequent move. Denny just backed off and let Joey do Joey.

Darlington was a blast. Met Keselowski, Blaney and got their autographs. Blaney's stache was pretty rad. Also met Donnie Allison, caught him flipping someone off who was taking a picture lol. The racing was great in person and watching them slide around the turns was well worth the price of admittance, luckily I was sitting where most of the action was all night. I'll definitely be going back next year.

Can you see the whole track from the stands at Darlington?

If you sit high enough. The stands aren't as tall as other tracks. Pearson is the tallest. $38 student tickets available for lower seating. I sat in T1 last year for a $25 craigslist ticket. I sat at the tip top of the finish line for $95 on year. I hear Pearson is best view.

Yeah, TV package doesn't do any track justice.

Nah we camp up on top of Mt. Cheaha. Tallest mountain in Alabama. You can see it beyond the exit of turn 2 when you're looking East. $17 a night, power hookups. Bathroom, showers. Good food at the lodge. You can see the track from the overlook in the evening. There's 8 of us, 4 kids, so it's a better family spot. Best part, is we take the back way into the track and never see race traffic.
