    Just an observation
Larson was way faster than bush or Martin.
He came up on bush like a rocket and then just seemed to ride the rest of the way.

    Mmmmmmmmm

I thought it was strange too but you know how these young guys like to wear out their $hit before the end of a run or race.

    From a friend on FB:

"A guy who had no job, a team that used to do start and park and a Canadian crew chief just won the NASCAR championship.
Fans who are sick of corporate drivers and the fat cat owners need to take notice of this. Martin Truex is the son of a lobster fisherman.
Cole Pearn is an engineer who used [to] race in the CASCAR series, Barney Vissar is a Vietnam veteran who owns a chain of furniture stores.
These are all common men who did the un common thing. These are the stories that made us become NASCAR fans and these are the stories that keep us as fans."

I told the Mrs that it truly was the underdog story. We haven't had one of those in....shoot, I can't even remember. Kulwicki maybe?

Yep. A quarter of a century (of Hendrick & Gibbs domination, combining for 19 titles if you count SHR and FRR affiliations, Chevy having 17 in that span).

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Well you can't count out the JGR affiliation this year but I am glad the 78 won it. They had to perform on there own to even get the change to be a part of JGR so still a good story and in the end they purchased equipment and beat the team that designed it. JGR is dominate as a team right now but I think the new Chevy entry next year will catch up to that by mid season. The ford camp is just F'ed!

Shit.... Toyota will dominate next year too... They still have KB, and MTJ and Denny.... Personally I hope Suarez and Jones step up to keep it going. The best chevy next year will hopefully be Derrike Cope and Starcom racing...

Ford is going to be awful next year. Hopefully it will motivate them to get cracking and have a "Mustang" ready for '19. i'm curious to see how the "Camaro" will work for Chevy and wonder when Nissan will announce the Maxima, Altima, and Titan in Cup, Xfinity, and Trucks. I wonder if Red Horse Racing is quietly doing testing for them. Imagine a 1.5 season buyout to get them to step away so they could test without NASCAR enforced limitations.

Fuck nissan... Who would even drive for them in cup? (To be fair nissan is the only 2wd single cab work truck with the big V8, but the maxima and Altima are just trash.)
