Lots of schetchy trails at Frank Raines. (So I’ve heard)

After an hour or so there you might reach veteran status.

Just make sure the trail you go up (everything seems up there...) has an out. Otherwise its can be a long back out....

    Good luck!

Good to know, I got a faded softtopper window thats fun the back up in. I've also heard some parts get technical. Should be interesting.

That is a good looking truck!

What’d you think of Frank Reines?

    Thanks!

I don't really know what to compare it to. Didn't get to explore the whole park.

Took the fire road till it ended as my warm up/figure things out, got lost a few times and found my way back.

Hit a few quick obstacles /hills

Took one hill with a bend In the middle so I could see the top, as soon as I went around the bend it went up fast, hearing about horror story's of stopping on a hill, I had to go for it so I maintained my momentum, choose the best line, almost shat myself and made it to the top. It was a RUSH. I looked at what I just got up and said WTF.

The creek area looked super fun, but didn't have time to make it down there.

I'm for sure guna head back there and push my truck harder. I feel like I kinda babied it haha

I'm just still at aw at how you can just climb up shit haha

Edit: wait I took 3 pics at the same spot

    Right on!

I’m not a huge fan of hill climbing but I’ve always have had fun at Frank Reines.

I like OHV parks because you can push yourself and your truck but still be able to get out if it gets too hairy (most of the time).

Stoked you had fun! I need to get out soon.

Yeah exactly, reminds me of skateparks kinda like a training facility.

Let me know when you head out there, and I'll see if I can make it.

    It's amazing, right?

I remember my 1st time going to Hollister when I got my truck. It had stock size all weather tires. I didn't do anything difficult but I was blown away by what it could go over.

Super newb - first truck. I wanna check out Hollister ORV park. Are the green trails idiot proof? What are the blues like? I have a TRD OR that's bone stock and just want to have some newb fun.

Green trails can be ran in a Honda Civic (I've literally seen Honda Civics on the trails), blue trails are pretty easy (except bonaza gultch after a rain). Even some of the black diamonds there can be ran with open differentials.

My first couple times taking the truck off road I was pretty nervous to start out but quickly gained confidence after I saw how well it performed (even without a locker).

Get yourself a recovery point on front and rear, grab a tow strap and a buddy then go have some fun.

Hit up Hollister hills late this afternoon and ran some greens and also did Bonanza Gulch. Was pretty fun and challenging enough for me. Never offroaded before and felt comfortable mid-way through. I'd definitely go back. Also swang by the beach for some nice views. Not the coolest pics from the run, but hard to snap photos in the sketch spots.

LOL last minute idea with a friend. Wasn't sure how hard of trails I'd try and didn't feel like embarrassing myself in front of the veteranos. :headbang:
