regearing is personal preference...personally I think the low end torque and transmission already shifts like shit...add a load (towing) or larger heavier tires and it is going to exacerbate those driving characteristics

While one person might be OK driving the truck that shifts a lot, feels sluggish, has very little low end torque, acceleration is dogged... it would drive another person completely batshit crazy. Enough to where they'd spend 2 grand to have it regeared to get some of the "performance" back.

Yeah. It will probably be a little while before I can afford the lift. I might wait and just do it when it comes time to replace my tires. I know their accessories managers that does all of their builds really likes the Toy Tech lift, so that is what they push. I know a lot of people here like the OME lift, but I've heard that it isn't designed to be used with the 3rd Gens and can cause faster wear on some parts, but that might be an older post. I know that Icon and King make some good lifts. So I will see what is on the list that they do there that they'll stand behind, and check a couple of other dealerships, but I'll probably do the Toy Tech from my dealership. The first truck I test drove was one of their built trucks, like a dealership version of the TRD Pro, and it had the Toy Tech lift. I really liked the way it handled, it might have drove out better than my stock TRD Off road.

The dealership can not refuse warranty work under the magnusson moss warranty act. This states that the dealer/servicing mechanic must determine what failed and what caused the failure. Any parts associated with a lift are basically voided. They can not say your radio isnt working because of a lift. But they could say your broken/leaking cv axle is because of the lift. In my experience i get the dealer to install things like that because they have to warranty there work. And they will also argue on your behalf when an issue arises because they dont want the lift they installed to be at fault. Some dealers are better than others.
