Super Whites do not have clearcoat, it is a single stage paint.

I followed this advice, and I got a call within 1-2 days from the executive offices. They didn't make any promises, but asked me to send photos of the peeling paint. Then, they had me take my tacoma to a local dealer for the regional reps to have a look, and take their own photos (had to leave the truck most of the day). Today, at their request, I went and got a quote to repaint the affected areas (hood, roof, front quarter panels). It seems like they will pay for it, and provide a rental car. My shop is telling me that it'll take them 3-4 weeks to complete the job once they are approved and start.

Just for reference, what were you quoted to paint the hood, roof, quarter panels?

I ask because my 2017 black limited has white spots that look like the clear coat is coming up but it’s coming in stripes(like the spray pattern). Sooner than later my truck will look like a zebra. Pathetic

I don't have the exact quote, as it went to Toyota and the the dealer. But I think they said it was around $8k.

Just an update for all: my repair has been approved along with a rental car. The repair wasn't difficult to get approval for, but the rental car was. They are saying that this will likely take around 30 days to complete (stripping off parts, painting, and waiting on new parts). At first, Toyota said that this was being done as a good-faith gesture, so they would not provide a rental car. Then they approved 5 days of a rental car. Now they have approved a rental for the entire time that my Tacoma is in the shop. At this point, I'm just trying to coordinate with the dealer on timing.

I followed the above suggestion and was in contact with an advocate. She told me that there is nothing currently that can be done but she recommended taking it to a local dealer to be diagnosed. Did you have to pay for the diagnosis and does this match up with your experience? Thank you for all of this valuable information guys!

UPDATE: Dealer took photos and said they would call me back but they said that if there was anything they could do about it, that it would be determined by corporate. Received a call today saying they want me to bring the truck back in for them to estimate the repairs and they requested that I bring my receipt from a previous repair. Starting to have a little hope.

UPDATE: Took my truck in to have 'estimated'. They said they would contact corporate and then call me back. Called me back and said they aren't going to do anything about it. Not happy.

My Barcelona Red 2017 Tacoma with 32000 miles is in the beginning stages of paint failure. My Tacoma is always garaged and is spotless. It is parked in the garage in the winter and covered with sheets. This truck has seen 1 winter the first year and is seldom ever wet unless being washed. My wifes 13 Sienna has no issues with 9 Ohio winters. I first noticed it on the top of the passenger door frame but it is now starting to effect the roof and hood. Unless you know what to look for most people wont notice it yet but it is coming. I took it to Don Joseph Toyota to have it repainted but they said my truck was out of warranty last year by a couple months and told me no. That new Toyota RAV4 we were looking at buying was replaced with a new Mazda MX5. Toyota builds great cars but there customer service sucks. That was strike 3 because of their customer service. Were keeping the Toyotas we have now but wont be buying anymore.
Strike 1 was they would not replace leaking front struts at 25K on the Sienna. They said seeping is normal even though I had mechanics telling me otherwise. As soon as the warranty expired that seep became a leak and they said I needed to replace them now for $800.
Strike 2 I hit a deer with my Tacoma and it sat at a body shop for 3 months because Toyota kept sending the wrong parts 3 times. My truck is modified with Toyota parts and to finally get the correct parts I had to photograph the VIN number off a TRD Sport similar to mine. We even photographed my parts damaged and sent them the correct part numbers and they still sent the wrong parts.
