Damn that's bad. Here in NY, we pay once for tags (they're good for life I think) and it's a $25 inspection once per year and registration renewal is like $65 every two years.

Here in Virgina we get to pay property tax on cars. This year my Taco-tico cost me almost $500 in property tax. Total BS. But we write it off on the Fed taxes so it eases the BS pain.

The 84 months is the kicker. Depending on financing % where you are is why it is cheaper. (I'm jealous of your purchase)

Thank you to all you who commented putting your input and experience. And I apologize for the west coast scenario, didn’t realize how vague and dumb that was!
We are in Oregon, and she says she called various dealers around the Portland area and they all will not budge on the $36,800 with TTL. It is about $300 here in Oregon to register a vehicle and what not. So roughly $36,600 for the truck before TTL.
It has tow package, navigation, rear 3rd light LED lights for when the doors open, rubber floor Matts and such. I will get the details when I get home, she took a picture of the tag on the truck with all that it comes with. It was stickered at $37,900 I believe.

They can come off more than 1300.00 off sticker. They are bullshitting her.

I think they discount is more than 1300. If I am reading the OPs last post, it seems that the 36,600 still includes tax. I don't know what his local sales tax is so I can gauge what the total discount off sticker is.

Bottom line, can they come down further? Yes. Will they? All depends on their local market.

@Rustytaco71 I highly recommend you request a quote through TrueCar. Put in the specs of the Taco you want. Enter your name, number and email. You will instantly get quotes via email for Tacos in the local dealers inventory that match what you want. You may get calls from them as well but if you're serious, this is good. You will be dealing with their fleet or Internet sales team. They tend to cut down on a lot of BS that goes with negotiations.

Keep in mind. You can still negotiate the price they give further down. I got them down another 1100 from the quote I got. But it saved me time of visiting each dealer. I immediately could compare who was willing to deal more.

Give it a shot. Nothing to lose.

To answer my own question, yes probably haha. Out the door it would be $36,800 with registration and what not.

She did and she loved it and is really wanting it, thinking we might have to go down today to see what we can do. Going to shoot for $35k but if not then an extra $1800 ain’t all that bad. Happy wife, happy life right?

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Missouri is the same -- vehicles fall into the "personal property" category for the State, County, and sometimes City.
The amount you pay is based on the "assessed value" the newer or higher priced --the more you pay
