The most difficult part I have found is connecting the window to the cables. Short of drilling a hole or gluing something to them there are few options for the connection to the window (on the 2nd gen). I'll have to look more closely behind the seat and in the window of the '16 to see if it's possible to use the existing glass. The '17 back window looks to be a different shape.

The whole rear window assembly is different.

My dog loved the window on my T4R, but the Taco window is a lot more convenient for the humans riding in the truck. It can be open in almost any weather and lets him rest his head on the seat back and stick his nose out. If it wasn't automatic I doubt it would get the same use, but as it is I use the crap out of it.

Yup, I had mine the open the other day, ya know nice weather windows down. All the leaf litter in the bed kept flying in the cab. Finally shut the damn thing.

In my 15 and 09 access cab. I would roll down the front window, reach back and open back window to air out the truck. The 2nd gen rear headrest was easier to flip down/up than 3rd gen.

But now I got a double cab, I can roll all 4 windows down and don't need to open the little back window.

If my truck came with powered rear window, cool but I wouldn't go out of my way to put one in.
