No doubt the RL is a great vehicle, I was just letting you know that it has issues as well. Trust me, I am not getting on here to hate on the RL, in fact it was one of my choices and it is still not out of the running. I passed on a Tacoma that I had transferred in because I just had a bad feeling when I went to get it. I have decided to wait and see what Ford does with the Ranger. I did have a RL for a day, the only problem I found was the roads I travel most often are not the smoothest and the RL hit hard at some points, the same points my current truck has no problems going over.

New Ridgeline looks like a minivan with a bed. I can't believe they made it look like that. 1st gen looked better. I had a ridgeline years ago. It couldn't handle washed out dirt roads. Not exaggerating.

    Thank you!

The truck should arrive on Tuesday.

I will post up one last time (since this is a Tacoma forum) with my impressions.

I will say I love the power seats and the speakers in the bed is pretty damn cool.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Put the seats in my truck and I'm all set. Had CRX seats in my old truck and they were great I must admit

These arguments are childish. These are both niche vehicles intended for different markets and geared for different things. Myself, I love my Tacoma. It does what I need but I would benefit from a higher payload capacity.

I do not particularly like the Ridgeline and it is not the right vehicle for me. That said I do not particularly like the 3rd gen Tacoma either.

Its childish to shun the Ridgeline saying its not a real truck. The Tacoma isn't a 'real' truck either.

The Tacoma is a body on frame SUV (4runner) with a bed that we call a Truck
The Ridgeline is a unibody SUV (Pilot) with a bed that they call a Truck.
    The F-250 is a Truck.

No one is questioning the Tacoma's superiority off-road, but if your focus is off-roading I would submit that for less money you could buy a Wrangler and blow the Tacoma out of the water off-road.

I'll catch heat for this I suppose.

Ridgeline was just named North American truck of the year. Car of the year went to Chevrolet Bolt. Must be really good for it to win truck of the year when it's clearly a minivan. o_O

Slowest mid-size truck.....even the goofy dated Frontier beat it IIRC.

    Go Honda!!! ;)

aww be nice to the Frontier. It would have been my second choice after the Tacoma. Nissan makes good engines in my experience and the Frontiers have treated their owners well from what I've heard and read.

In any case bang for buck the Frontier gives you almost all the truck the Tacoma is for way less price...

Looking foward to seeing the next Gen.

So am I. This is my first Taco. I wanted to go to the Nissan dealer down the way when I checked out the Taco initially. Longo down here only had two Tacos at the time in Feb '16.
My GF said "what is wrong with you!!". LOL
I have no real dislike for the Frontier and like you said, the most "bang for the $$$".

Correct. All new vehicles have growing pains and the Ridgeline has theirs. The wiring harness issue has been addressed via recall/TSB. I was impressed with their speed at which they sought to investigate. Most likely this is because it's a new truck and they want it to succeed. You can read the NHTSA recall here:

That's great that they have it addressed already. I haven't been keeping up on the RL lately. The ROC forum is fairly slow and doesnt have as much activity as TW, so I don't check that one very often.
As I said earlier, I am not here to hate on the RL, I honestly like it, however, it needs a bit more ground clearance or stiffer suspension, bit then again, where I live the roads are very poorly maintained, so not really Honda's fault.

That said. Can you lower a Tacoma and make the ride softer at the same time like the Ridgeline?

Yes within some limits. And you can buy a BMW, jack it up and put mud tires on it if you like. Why not just buy a Ridgeline?
