I'll probably get some hate for this, but if your needs are a commute/around town vehicle that can handle the occasional home improvement run to Home Depot/Lowe's the RL is the superior vehicle. It's more spacious in the cab, has more "refinements" (electric seats, three zone climate control, heated stearing wheel, etc), can lay a 4x8 sheet of plywood/drywall between the wheel wells, and has better road manners.

It was off of my list for new trucks because I want a vehicle that can handle light off-road duty (Pismo dunes/back country trails) and has good aftermarket support (lifts, bumpers, etc); none of which are supported by a RL.

Most of the people on this forum are "truck people" and thus the lack of appeal for the RL, but for the "car people" out there that want the utility of a truck bed, the RL is a perfect fit.

Haha love this place, everyone calls out the RL as being driven by a women , ( or a girls truck) and then once the taco gets nailed its all hands on deck.

Truth is, it is much safer with a truck or large vehicle to back into any spot and has nothing to do with gender.

Yep, I knew someone whose work required all employees to back into parking spots.

Same rationale here. That and I didn't like the looks. Back seat folding/storage was pretty wonky too. Oh and if you get a flat while the bed's loaded up you're f'd.

It has the ability to mount the spare to the front bed rail if you know you are going to be loading the bed where access will be blocked. I know its not the ideal solution, but they did think of that scenario. Now, a real truck has a full size spare mounted under the bed, just sayin.

Toyota, GM, Nissan, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Mitsubishi all make cars and truck. By your definition only Mack and International are truck makers lol

When I asked the sales guy he said something about Honda saying to put it in the backseat, which seemed inane. Not sure putting it against the bulkhead would be a lot better since that consumes already-precious bed capacity.

I guess my point there is that setup exemplifies the likely target market at which the Ridgeline is aimed. Primarily an on-street people-hauler with the ability to bring home a load of mulch from the county recycling place without soiling the interior.

I don't know why people get all butthurt over the RL here yet someone jumps on TW with their "just got a new Tacoma, lifted it with spacers and put bigger tires on it's ok though it's only 2wd I don't go offroad" and everyone nut hugs them and says "niccee, ohhhhh looks good!! Damn, nice stance, wow looks so much more aggressive"

    .....? Explain yourselves :spy:

People just want to secure their manhood by thinking they are more manlier than people who buy unibody trucks.
