Honda did a great job capturing the vision of what a large segment of people are looking for. Toyota did as well. While the Tacoma is a superior off road performer, and a nice daily driver, the Ridgeline is a slam dunk for many light weekend warriors and soccer Dads. I personally prefer the Tacoma, because of its robust off road appeal, but the Ridgeline is undoubtedly an outstanding vehicle with decent off road abilities to boot.

A Ridgeline just passed me on main street. 2 words, Subaru Brat, only a little bigger.

I test drove one last month, and have the same opinion. If someone drives mainly on pavement, the RLII is great due to the MPGs. It's also good for those Home Depot/Lowes/Light landscaping duties on the weekend. With winter approaching, we'll get to see how the RLII performs in some snow. I need my Taco to actually get to my house in the winter. Don't know how the AWD will do compared to the 4WD I have absolute trust in. I'll try and get a Honda dealer to allow me a test drive when there's a good 12" of snow on the ground!

Agreed. I think The AWD will do well in the snow knowing Honda.

My ex had a CRV. I. The snow the front tires would spin for a second or two before the power was transmitted to the back tires. Hopefully the Ridgeline transmits power quicker to the rears. Would be better if they had a button like Toyota offers on the RAV4 and the highlander that locks the wheels up to 25mph.

I'm going to go with a lot of general commenters that it just looks bland, even the black edition.

Something about the lines... it just looks wrong.

I have been pondering your comment all day- and my original reaction has not changed- that hypothetical guy you describe probably drives a RL because that is the best fit for his family, you think?- placing the concerns for his family in front of his own, getting up every day and working hard at a job he probably doesn't love to provide something for someone other than himself, you know what I am talking about, right? an "old school" man (with a fanny pack-lol).

Maybe Pelfreybilt can make a nice bumper for it, make it look a little more bad ass

That would be great. Increase the approach angle etc.
