I can get a used 2017 DCSB Tacoma, 4cylinder, 2wd out the door for $25300, that's everything all taxes, fees, etc.

Is it worth that? Have others gotten better deals?

This truck new I think I would be looking at $28k out the door.

Forgot to mention it has 2800 miles on it. Still under same warranty as a new one.

$25,150 MSRP for a new one. I would think you could get out the door for MSRP with a little bit of haggling. I'd pass, personally.

I'd personally wait for an opportunity to get a 6 cyl if you can spend extra money. Same mpg, more power.

I'm guessing this config is 2WD. I also guess it's not super fun pulling 4 people + gear with the 2.7L.

If you live at altitude or hit the mountains on a regular basis, then get the V6.

If you're using it as a commute truck and weekend camper, then it's perfect.

If you want a lift and bigger tires, then get the V6. You'll kiss any fuel economy goodbye with the 2.7 with a minor tire size increase, even at stock suspension height.

I'd mainly be committing. I throw motorcycles in the bed every now and then. I live in TN so don't have to worry bout huge mountains or altitude.

    You're good then.

Drive it first to confirm it's enough for you.

Mainly, accelerating from a dead stop and then aggressive passing on a freeway/merging.

If those two things don't ruin it for you, then you'll be enjoying your ownership.

Also don't listen to anyone who might post later and say resale is better on the V6.

I paid $24,800 for my 2013 brand new. It was valued at $24,400 last month with 58k miles. It was totaled, and insurance wrote me a check for just a few bucks shy of $30k.

SoCal dealer had the identical truck (2013) with another 1k miles on it and was asking $26,999.

So.. mind the bullshit that floats around.

What kind of 2013 did you have, what are the specs? 2wd, 4wd, access cab, double cab, etc...

it most likely is a certified preown so the powertrain warranty is 5yr 100k miles vs brand new.

you have to ask yourself if you like the power and options. if so just try to work a better deal and be sure they don't get you on higher interest rates, add ons, etc...

Biggest thing I had to get used to with my 2.7 was pulling out to pass. Had to make darn sure no one was coming. Had to back down a couple times but have started to learn not to be in a hurry to get from point A to point B.
