By the best one you can afford. Fiberglass looks the best, but an aluminum one work just fine. Make sure you get some screened windows for ventilation. The side vented windoors are a nice option for getting at gear. Do a search on here for some good examples. Used ones are also an option.

From what I assume Fiberglass is superior.
Buy used if you don't want to spend 2,000$
I bought mine for 50$ with all good glass and locks.

It looks nicer, but the aluminum ones are definitely more utilitarian. They will have aluminum frames you can drill into and mount stuff. Many are more rigid (holding more weight). Depends on what you need really.

Many people don't like the look, but the mid-rise models (Leer 180 for example) make a world of difference with headroom.

I was told that the fiberglass ones will last longer. But I could be mistaken?

I plan on pulling the trigger on an SR5 in the next day or two. I've already got the top planned out. Leer 100XR. If you plan on living in the back, for sure go with something with a higher rise. I'm a weekend warrior as far as camping goes, so I'll survive in the cab-height top. One of the main deciding factor was the 50/50 sliding windows with screens (and pet screens) for camping.

3rd Gen AC SR5 with Leer 180. Like it much better than cab height.IMG_1184.jpg
