Hard to disagree with that. However, I still don't believe most would buy the other 3. In my short time on this forum, I have seen a bunch of folks that have some cash that they seem to throw around. I squeeze every little bit I can get out of my pennies and it will take some pretty strong evidence that yota was cheaping out before I wouldn't by a Tacoma. A stumble happens once in a while, I like to say Shit happens, just don't step in it. I don't think Toyota has stepped in it yet.

I agree with you. I beat the snot out of my truck weekly around here in Alaska. I have no diff howl. I plugged the lca myself after to purchased it. I don't have any problems. It could use the TSB for the transmission stuff but that's it. I love this thing. Test driven a Colorado. What a shitty feeling truck, cheap quality and everything was hard cheap plastics. I made the right choice when I got this. Next year I'll take it to the Arctic circle.

As I said. I wouldn't stay in a miserable marriage just to save money on the divorce. Hard to put a price on being happy and satisfied. Life's too short....

I'd rather stay on Toyota's case and complain

Exactly. I waited out 2016 (was to buy DCSB TRD O/R MT loaded). 2017 did not bring change, so I am not buying anytime soon. Shopping for a used 2010-2013 Taco instead. Will consider in 3 years if they get their shit together. If not, buh-bye, Toyota.

Yes but I cannot remember the details I think only DoubleCabs are built in Baja. Access Cabs and SOME Doublecabs are built in TX. But I may have it backwards. But on every issue I've tracked here there is nothing we've been able to localize to one single plant. Texas trucks are having the same issues as Baja trucks and vice versa.

Smitty what exactly is the LCAs ? I have 2300 miles on my truck and I am starting to hear a faint howl noise from the rear. It seems to happen around 45 to 55 mPH, however, it does not happen all the time. Maybe once or twice a week and the howl is very faint. I am trying to determine if this is the rear diff or something else. If I go over 65 MPH it stops. If I slow down to about 35 or 40 MPH it stops. I am not really concerned right now but I want to keep an eye on this.

What you in the shop for this time? I think it's a pretty sweet deal for you. Unlimited donuts and a new truck to drive what seems like every couple weeks. Living that billionaire lifestyle, I'm almost jealous.

Don't do it. Wait it out if you can. Or you will join us, the frustrated masses, waiting on Toyota to unfuck themselves and this truck.

I like how this is the argument: other people suck more so Toyota sucking isn't a big deal.

I'm about ready to call it on mine. I just see the massive potential in this truck. If it didn't have these damn problems it would be ideal. Why couldn't Toyota make a truck that didn't rumble to a stop or howl at speeds?! That's basic "vehicles shouldn't do this" 101 stuff.

I would think you would want others to buy, thus there are more folks giving yota shit about there crap. If no one buys, then they just sit on the lot and no one knows they suck, every one will think they just don't sell

A few people defend over a cents plastic plug that caused the howling noise.
To me, a defect is a defect.
It didn't meet the requirement/spec and QC should failed it. Should not even let it go to production until it's fixed, retested and passed.

I don't want Toyota to get increased sales. That will just demotivate them from fixing their trucks.

If their sales start to dip, investors start to clamor. Toyota might need a kick in their pocket book (read: nuts) before they speed up these fixes.

The only reason I bought new was because it was a Toyota and because it was a Tacoma. Had I known this was what was in store for the new tacoma, I would have bought something else.

My service manager, the extended warranty, the potential this truck has, and the rumors of a fix on the near horizon are the only reason I haven't tossed this truck to the curb. My gf is starting to hate driving with me because the howl is so annoying.

If that were the case no cars would sell because nothing is perfect in life. To know what is worth worrying about is genius. Holes that make noise in the wind don't cut it in my book.

    I have 0 issues.
