Not the same howl as the diff howl, they are very distinctly different sounds and one is observed during winds/crosswinds, the other not, I did the plugs and still have mine, the sound clearly comes from the rear of the truck, but agree these are all issues that should have been worked out before rolling to production, honestly with so much shared between the old Tacoma and the lexus/Toyota parts bin I wouldn't be surprised if very little testing was done as they figured most of everything was already proven, used, just refresh the look and add some gizmos.

Toyota Tacoma = the gold bar standard for trade in value... just ONE reason we are all here... don't forget don't dismiss and don't hate - get in the truck and drive it.

I bet IF you all with the rear diff howl actually put on REAL A/T tires, that howl sound goes away... just sayin.

I had it with my factory open country toyos and its still present with my BFG KO2s, tires would be more related to wheel bearings or if you jumped up a significant size in tires/wheel combo.

I am ok with less than perfect truck but it depends on the issue. Some can be lived with, some can be fixed. The buzzy vibration is a deal breaker, however. There is no known fix and this is the type of issue I personally would not be able to live with. YMMV

My 11 had a front diff seal leak at 51k, but before then not ONE single issue, build wise, etc. My 15, I had till 31k, not ONE single issue. My 16 is 3 months old and has had a few issues that were worked out under warranty and one that is still waiting a solution and is under 8k miles. That's the point that is trying to be conveyed here that you refuse to acknowledge, brand new trucks with issues from the get go build wise and otherwise, dosent really leave one with warm fuzzy feelings in regards to longevity.

I'll be honest. If the hood flutter and LCA whistle were the only problems people were complaining about i would be content.

Both are minor in the grand scheme of things.

But power train, drive line issues arent trivial.

I consistently see people asking if the 2017's have issues. I am reporting on my experience with driving a 2017.

Sweeping mechanical issues under the rug is not my idea of satisfactory problem resolution.

And you refuse to acknowledge that I told you I had zero issues. So that some people with problems who whine constantly here mean that a hundred thousand people do ? I doubt it

Since when? I never said you didn't have issues, but thanks for putting words in my mouth. And there are more than a few, just visit the big threads, TSB transmission, Rear Diff howl poll thread, etc. We get it yours has no issues, but plenty of us do and are discussing solutions, ideas, educating others. Your comments aren't helping anyone besides whatever nonsense your trying to state as fact based on YOUR truck alone.

And 5600 posts over 2000 of them probably are for howling holes

You are not discussing solutions when you continue to harp on holes that were fixed with a TSB and also the tranny TSB. You and Smitty's comments constantly about holes and a TSB fix you not helping anyone

I think if the 2017 owners have the same issues as the 2016 then there are threads to cover them all.

Has that guy even proven he owns one yet? I think he's one of those who just posts non-stop complaining about complainers and then doesnt post anything about his own truck (no off road photos, etc) I have him on ignore for a reason.
