I got my AP from MAPreformance with his stage 1 93oct tune, its night and day difference from stock. That horrible rev hang from 1st to 2nd is all but gone and the car has alot more pep and the throttle response is also more predictable. I'd recommend the AP it was my first mod and love it.

Cool car, I had a 04 in 04, learned how to drive a manual with it. I liked it but I think I wanted a 02-03. I should have kept it, so I could have traded it for the last gen of STI hatchback that was sold here. Those are the cleanest, only thing I never liked about US spec STI was the fact it was a 2.5 and not a 2.0 like a actual WRC more low end perhaps but not what 2.O WRC is about.

What's the WRB designation? The color?

Well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Folks.......We here at "Flip My Ride" FMR decided to take a little break for the holidays, but as we all, the flipping never stops. Now we have been following @Me. Projekt all year long as he has jumped from vehicle to vehicle. Lately he was been talking about jumping on a WRX and low and behold it seems that people have been pushing his buttons. FMR was brough into a for sale thread on what can only be described as a sweet looking WRX. Hats off to the OP @Roody for maintaining such a sweet looking ride. We apologize in advance for getting dragged into this latest episode of FMR. It is rather fitting though, that he is flipping and @Me. Projekt is buying. @TacoCat is definitely not making things easy, and we thank him for keeping us in the loop.

So here we have this awesome OP who has just bought a 4runner (gonna need pics) and is flipping his WRX. We have the King of flipping himself Caleb, dragged into the mix, who has done some nasty flipping this year. Will he sell his truck? His Prius? Maybe underhand sell the wifes 4runner. One thing is for sure, we never want to see this guy turn into a repoman. Stay tuned while we here at FMR get to the bottom of this Tom Fuckery.

    A thing or two...
Have you tried turning off hill start assist? I turned mine off, and it helps a lot.

They can't legally void your warranty unless they can prove the mod caused the problem. They can't deny a suspension warranty claim because you have an Access Port. If you blow your motor, you're probably screwed.

Yea my buddy has a 2016 STI (with an OTS Access Port Tune) and he blew his motor and they told him to get fucked.

He was pissed, but I was like “dude what do you expect”

I'm not lying or exaggerating. I "hand-calculate" every single tank of gas for the WRX. Keep a spreadsheet of everything. My average in the car with exception of the first tank of gas that was already in it when I bought it is 28.4 MPG but wavers generally between 27.5 and 31 MPG depending on driving conditions. Highway/road trip tanks have netted 33+ MPG multiple times.

It's strange because now you can buy an Accessport directly from Subaru, at the dealer.

That said, I've never tuned this car and it does not have an AP on it...but if nobody buys it and I decide to keep it for another 5 years, I might go ahead and buy one through the dealer...

I might ask my dealer about that, never saw it or heard it mentioned as an accessory.
And free bump for a sweet ride. Lots of taco enthusiasts like the subies. Someone could daily this and turn their taco into a trail truck.

    1) The rev hang isn’t that that bad. It’s in all cars these days, and you just gotta deal.

    2) Using an AP doesnt void the warranty outright, but it resets your engine starts instead of flagging (like TD1 for VAG cars), so you’re screwed when you have issues.

    3) Off the shelf tunes like MAP are trash. Don’t do it. I ran their tune and while the power was nice, it turns the FA20DIT into a ticking time bomb. I had knock events left and right over 10 and could feel feedback in both fun pedals. Get a real tune that is specific to your car, altitude, and climate.

GLWS, and hopefully you don’t miss going fast. I do :(

The rev hang is annoying in traffic but otherwise not a big deal

And thanks...hoping to replace the WRX with something else reasonably fun
