Good question. Lets go talk to the Suzuki Samuri guys and find out about CR's "handling test".

I had a samuri and i couldn't flip the bugger over, even after mod-ing it to rockcrawl...

I don't put a whole lot of stock in CR personally.

    These guys are legit though:

I currently both Gen 2 and Gen 3. Gen 3 is very similar to Gen 2, but slightly more refined. I am very happy so far. I am the original owner of both, bought brand new.

He doesn't know what hes talking about.

How many times does this need to be posted. You don't own one so why you care. Troll Troll Troll your boat gently down the stream.

I plan on buying a 2018 unless they don't address the major issues being talked about all over the web.

I don't get the euphoria over the DC,I never see anyone using the backs seats for passengers.I prefer an Off Road,MT,Access Cab, 6 ' Bed.

100% about the "it's a truck", not so much about cheap, but still think it was worth it.
I pine for the days when a pickup truck was one of the least expensive new vehicles. The big three would just bang them out without making any changes year after year. For the most part, nobody was driving one unless it was being put to work.
Sorry in advance to all the "endless weekend" people- lol

Not sure if you are serious or not... so handling would be things like body roll and oversteer. Understand its a truck but you still have to turn and navigate sometimes quickly. Or maybe some of you don't. Tacoma handles like a boat (in my opinion), perhaps a trade off for the off road prowess. Not sure on that.

I never thought I'd see the day where a truck became more expensive than luxury cars but it happened.

If you look at the video from them they make sure to point out the Poor Reliability.

Trucks are too new to have their reliability questioned. Major problems are exceptional. I'm not sure how they calculate that. First year of ownership?

I can't watch the vid. Driving home atm.

If you read the rest of the thread, you'd see that 1 - was told by the salesman that the crappy transmission would magically get better after a few thousand miles and 2 - I was willing to sacrifice the performance for the reliability.

Go test drive a Ford, Chevy, RAM, Honda or any of a number of other trucks and tell me how great the ponderous steering of the Tacoma is vs. any of those trucks. The Tacoma might as well have manual steering. It steers like a pontoon boat by comparison.

Manual steering? Are your arms tires after driving?

There are Long term reliability numbers and reports different from short term or near term reliability numbers. We dont know how they're getting their data but based on what I've seen here in the Forum plenty of people have been experiencing reliability issues.

I agree about the forums here but but those are very few. Not even 1% of Tacoma owners are on this forum.
