I don't disagree that the power band is much higher. The problem is, the power band in the 2nd gen wasn't low enough, but was tolerable. This is a truck. If you use it like a car, then yes, it isn't an issue.

It's just how it was designed and most people who buy this truck aren't really going to care.... therefore, it ain't likely to change until the next redesign if then. I was a little put off by it, but I got over it. The truck scoots when I want it to, I just have to push the pedal a little more.

Look, we get it Call. You like your truck. Now move on and let us commiserate (this is the inverse of what I often see in reply here "sell or trade and move on) :D

EXACTLY MY POINT! When I spend close to $40k on a truck, I don't want power train features that put me off, which I have to settle for.

Agreed. I'm not sure why people who dislike the truck aren't permitted to sympathize with one another without getting piled on by those who enjoy their trucks. Is Tacoma World a safe space for fans only?

I do not constantly whine about my truck, as a matter of fact, the only problem I have found with my Utility was 1 out of 8 U-bolts on the leaf wasnt torqued to specs and the 2 zerks on the front drive shaft were lacking grease........

Are you sure it is just not a suppressed emotion of that group " thang" @Smitty was talking of ? If thats the case, I am sure we can drill a glory hole for you or something, I will bring my dewalt with the 1/2 inch spade bit brother.....let me know.

This is because Toyota did a half-assed redesign when the competition came in hungry for new customers in a growing segment.

The gen 3 has the same bones as the gen 2. It has a parts bin 3.5 and a transmission with known issues.

Complaints and issues have been higher than the competition.

Stop crying because someone said something mean about your truck.

If you like it, you like it but Toyota isn't perfect and they rested on their laurels for this Tacoma.

Exactly - CR has a raging hard on for every Toyota and Lexus model except the Tacoma. I don't see an anti Toyota bias here.

I like my 2017 V6 tacoma except for one thing......it is SLOW like a tank and has no power. It will search for gears going up a moderate hill with a PAVED road, and the engine will rev up and down while the truck is jerking. I enjoy the embarrassment by getting beat going up a little hill by a Buick Encore. And I actually have to use the auto/manual shifting to pass suckers going slower than me. Gas mileage? Seriously? My 2014 tacoma with the 4.0 V6 had more power and better mileage. The computer in the new tacoma can't even calculate the mileage correctly. Should have kept the 2014 a little longer even if the windows howled at high speed.

Because we're enthusiasts! We fucking like tacoma's!!! Even if the 3rd gen can be herd howling 10 miles away and gets 5 MPG down hill, and shift flares all the time.

Its a tacoma and thats it!!!!
