2017 Tacoma Automatic Transmission Erratic performance

This truck shifts clunky and toggles at cruising speeds from gear to gear constantly searching for the right gear downshifts are sometimes very hard at stoplights sometimes vibrates the powertrain when under load. I've been to the dealer 4 times with it. One time a tsb reprogrammed it another time they told me it was low on fluid. Toyota agreed to stretch the warranty out to 8 yrs. Is anyone else concerned about this?

 

there are about 15 threads a day made on the 3rd gen AT. so yes there is concern

 

Very common problem with the new tacomas. Try using the search bar next time. I had the tsb done and it was 2 quarts low on tranny fluid.

 

I've heard of this problem.

 

did that solve the problem? cause mine is still the same not what you'd expect for a $35k Toyota my old 93 with 359k on it had way better trans performance.

 

I don't have any problems after the tsb and topping off the tranny fluid.

 

You should call toyota they are offering that warranty 8yrs 125k miles upgrade to folks like us that had low tranny fluid from factory.
