You're one of the few guys who tracks mileage regularly. I'll be needing tires soon and I'm eager to hear how the new tires affect your mileage. What size did you go with?

I went with 265/75r16. I'll definitely post my first fill up which will probably be this Friday and keep it updated every few fill ups after.

I've found a lot of good info on here so I'll keep updating and try to pass on what I can.

I'm interested in them. I'm about to buy 4 of them, I'm in Huntsville.

The difference in ride quality and fuel economy between C and E tires is vastly overstated on this forum... the difference is subtle, at best.

And frankly, if you do any kind of halfway serious off-road venturing, I'd take E rated tires every time over C's.

First fill up with the new tires from the first post. Got 17.95 mpg. About 1/3 driving in the city and other 2/3 on interstate.

Average over last 10 fill ups was 19.46mpg on stock tires. So roughly based on first fill up I lost about 1.5 mpg with the new tires.

I'll update after a few more fill ups once I have a little better average.

First 3 fill ups after the new tires. Seems pretty steady at around 18mpg with 1/3 city and 2/3 on each full tank.

Thanks so much for following up. Are you doing any kind of adjustment for tire size when you calculate the MPG?

Just a hand calculation based on miles traveled and gas put into the truck. I track the miles on the odometer from last file up to current fill up. I stop pumping at the nearest quarter gallon after the first gas pump fill up pump stop.

With the tire size change, it should be a little better. You can divide the miles traveled by 0.966509 which would account for the difference in going from a 30.59" tire to a 31.65" tire. This will bring your MPG up a bit. Looks great to me.

Oh didn't think of that. Good call.
