2017 Tacoma Cowl

Anyone have this exact look with the cowl when you get see the filter on the driver side for their 2017 Tacoma? Idk how I just noticed this. Doesn’t show that on the passenger side.

 

There's no filter directly under the cowl cover that I'm aware of. There is that screening you see to help keep trash out of the cowl area.

The AC filter is on the PS, and *may* be visible if the dash setting is to outside air. But I suspect that like my '13, it's deep enough inside that seeing it with the cowl cover in place would be pretty difficult.

 

so is there supposed to be a gap that looks like that?

 

I had safelite replace my windshield and I’m wondering if they smashed it down like that in the process.

You see the trim right above the wiper? There’s a gap right above that showing the vent, the cowl looks pushed down.

 

Ok, so curiosity got the better of me and I went out in the cold to check and my cowl looks exactly the same as yours. It's normal.

That cowl looks pretty bad if I was you I would replace it and be done with it.

That pushed down area is normal they all look that way.
